Sacramento-based grief expert Dr. Dawn DiRaimondo lost her brother in Iraq, and she uses her experience to counsel others. Western psychology has long suggested that healing means “letting go” of a lost loved one, but new research suggests that isn’t necessarily the case.

So powerful and true. Beautifully written by a dear friend of mine. I'm sharing for those who need to hear this for themselves or for someone they know that is grieving this holiday season.

If you have lost a close family member, you might feel a mix of dread as the holiday season approaches. When someone you love is missing, expectations of celebration and joy can feel downright awful.Let me offer you something important:You have permission to do the holidays differently this year.Gri...

I will be running a breakout session during this year's Surviving Sibling Summit. This will be in an interactive virtual format with a number of speakers to choose from, all of which have lost siblings themselves. This was a moving, interactive and very positive experience last year. I look forward to being involved again this year!

Hello! I am sharing this because I am on a dissertation committee and we are looking for participants who have experienced the loss of a sibling as a young adult. There is currently very little research on the impact of losing a sibling. I am happy to be a small part of changing this.

Doctoral student, Claire Thomson is in a PsyD program at Alaska Pacific University.
Claire is looking for participants who lost a sibling(s) when they were between 18-30 years old and are currently between 18-35 years old. If you or someone you know meets this criteria and are interested in participating, please email Claire at [email protected].

The interviews will be held over the phone, zoom or in person in Alaska. Also, please feel free to share this post to reach others as well. Thank you in advance!

It is always an honor to be on a podcast and this was no exception! I really enjoyed my talk with Susan E Casey, therapist and author. Her podcast, Rock Your Shine shares stories of hope, inspiration and transformation after loss of all kinds. We both lost our brothers and discussed our personal and professional experiences around navigating intense grief.

Please share with anyone you think may benefit from listening. Available on Spotify, Amazon music, Google podcasts, Apple podcasts and You Tube.

An interesting website that was recently shared with me; a college planning guide for students with mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, spectrum disorders, etc. Seems like there is a lot of good info and resources in here, wanted to pass along.

Learn about college accommodations and resources available to students with mental health disorders. Plus, helpful apps, scholarships, and expert advice.

It's such a privilege to be asked to be on a podcast, especially around the topic of sibling loss. Grief and loss is something we all experience but often isn't talked about. This is a podcast by Dr Angela Dean, a psychologist who also lost her brother. We cover an array of topics including sibling loss, grief, therapy, mediums and more. Thanks for having me on Dr. Dean!

Listen to this episode from The Broken Pack: Stories of Adult Sibling Loss on Spotify. In this episode, Dr. Dean speaks with another psychologist and sibling loss survivor, Dr. Dawn DiRaimondo. Dr. DiRaimondo is a clinical psychologist in private practice in California. She is also the author of “...
