Overeat – restrict – feel guilty – repeat😳😳

Thanks to diet culture we haven’t understood that over eating sometimes happens. And we don’t need to continue the cycle and we don’t need to diet to fix it.💥💥

We also haven’t understood that over eating comes from some biological, but mostly emotional reasons. We especially overeat when we are checking out or needing something that we cannot name.💯

👉Then we beat ourselves up. We restrict like crazy and diet. We can only take that so long before we turn around and binge again☹️

Why didn’t I stop?
I am stuffed!😳

Most women assume it’s because they love food too much or lack self-control. Nope!

💥Emotional eating is often much deeper than that.

👉Sometimes you keep eating because you’re stressed.

👉Sometimes because you’re exhausted.

👉Sometimes because food feels like a reward after a long day.

👉Sometimes because it’s the first moment you’ve had to yourself.

And sometimes because you’re looking for comfort, relief, distraction, or a way to finally relax.💕

👉👉The goal isn’t to become perfect around food.

The goal is to understand what’s driving your overeating.

💥 I thought I sucked at will power. I thought I just had no discipline. I thought if I just kept the sugar out out of my house, I’d be OK.

I put all the blame on myself and it really hurt self-esteem that I could not control myself around food sometimes.

You feel like you’re being so good all day …

But when it comes to sugar and cravings at night, you can’t stop eating🍩🍫🍪

This isn’t because you are a bad person or bad with food💕

This is because you have been working all day to take care of everyone else, you’re nervous system is a little fried at night and you need the downtime.🌺🙏

Add in changing hormones and menopause. 😳

Food is an easy escape in a quick way to come down from the day🍟🍕🍔🧁🥧

If you’re an emotional eater, there are some very unhelpful pieces of advice out there.🤪🤪

👉Food is fuel
👉Have only three bites
👉Don’t have it in your house
👉Drink more water
👉Just count your calories

Let’s be real… Not everybody can just cut off food like that.

It was a surprise to me!

I was shocked at how much more sugar I wanted when I ate a meal that was not satisfying.

I grew up thinking that raw vegetables and salad were the way to eat if you wanted to lose weight, but then all I wanted to do was eat dessert afterwards.

You may love salads, but I love warm food so I was going against what I really needed and what made me feel good.

You can eat healthy, but find the things that really satisfy you or you may end up looking for some thing more to eat afterwards and it’s usually sugar.
