Good article about the consequences of the federal h**p ban.

‘For some, losing access to these remedies would disrupt sleep and cause minor annoyances, but for others who deal with dementia and seizures, not having h**p products can mean the difference between living at home and entering a facility, or turning to “more dangerous treatments,” [Dr.]Sulak said.’

The ban, aimed at wiping out intoxicating “gas station weed,” may also kill a multibillion dollar CBD wellness market, producers warn.

I am so discouraged and disappointed.

The Vermont legislature just voted to redefine full spectrum CBD products as “regulated cannabis products” (AKA ma*****na). This means that they will only be available in cannabis dispensaries.

I testified at the Vermont State House about this bill, along with a few other CBD business owners. We all said the same thing: non-intoxicating CBD products should not be restricted to dispensaries, and this bill will drive small companies out of business. We drafted and submitted recommendations. They ignored them all.

EDIT: several of you asked “What can I do?”

1. Governor Scott has five business days to address this bill. If you’re a Vermonter, you can call him and ask him to veto S.323. Tell him non-intoxicating, full-spectrum CBD products shouldn’t be restricted to dispensaries and should be legal to sell at farmers markets and regular stores.

2. The Vermont legislation is tied to the THC limits in the federal legislation. If the federal h**p ban is delayed or fixed, all will be well in Vermont too.

- Several federal bills have been introduced which would fix or delay the h**p ban. Andy Barr’s band new bill, the Lawful H**p Protection Act, seems to be the most promising.

The outdoor St. Johnsbury farmer market starts this Saturday! And… Primal Botanical will not be there this year. 😔

It was a very difficult decision, and I will greatly miss my market buddies! But after seven years of working every Saturday and every Sunday for six months of the year, I’m ready to have half a weekend free.

You can still find me at the Littleton farmers market on Sundays beginning June 7th.

And locals can always order online and pick up at my house in St. Johnsbury - no shipping charge!
