I was involved with the restoration of this 1891 building probably 15 or 20 years ago. They had removed Walz and reconfigured the whole unit into an apartment and I patched, patched all the walls, sanded and finished and 20 years later. I’m back to spruce up and fix some of the compromised boards

One of the houses our company Equitable Holdings is rehabbing. This project was truly a can of worms. When we finished with the demo, there was only basically three walls standing. The roof, the south end and everything else was tore out and tore off. It’ll be a really cute little house with its new addition encompassing a main floor bathroom and a small entryway one bedroom and kitchenette that’s open to the great area and potentially a loft, but I might decide against the loft. It’s vaulted ceiling with custom Sawmill 6 x 8 beams every 4 feet hand scraped and oiled. Very excited to make this a showcase. We intend to keep this as a rental house maybe for short term or traveling medical staff. -rehab renovation

Week 2 — What do you notice that nobody had to ask you to notice?

For me, I find myself while doing a customers hardwood floor projects, the door closer stop that keeps the door open isn’t on the right way or not bent enough to hold the door open… Or the aerator on the kitchen sink is spraying out funny and plugged up with minerals and I’ll take that apart to clean it.
