UPDATE: The fight over a Duluth physician’s non-compete continues. ⚖️

Earlier this year, a judge granted family physician Nyasha Spears, MD, a temporary injunction allowing her to open Amity Creek Primary Care, her direct primary care practice in Duluth.

The decision has been appealed.

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) opposes non-compete clauses in physician contracts because they can harm patient care + limit physician mobility.

Last Friday, MAFP COO Jami Burbidge, CAE, MAM, & CEO Maria Huntley, CAE, MAM, visited Allina Health United Family Medicine Residency.

Connecting with residents is so important to the MAFP. Throughout the year, our physician + staff leaders visit family medicine residencies across MN to share advocacy + leadership opportunities, introduce residents to MAFP programs + resources & learn how we can best support them now + throughout their careers.

These visits also give us an opportunity to listen — hearing directly from the next generation about what they need & how we can come alongside them.
