Studied side effects:

1. Allergic-type reactions (most established risk)
Some people are sensitive, especially to Yellow 5 (tartrazine) and others:

•Hives or skin rashes
•Itching
•Swelling (rare)
•Asthma-like symptoms in sensitive individuals
•Rare anaphylactoid reactions (very uncommon, mostly Yellow 5)

2. Behavioral effects in some children (mixed evidence)
This is one of the most debated areas:

•Increased hyperactivity
•Reduced attention span
•Irritability or restlessness
•Sleep disruption (reported in some parents/observational studies)

3. Potential migraine or sensitivity reactions
Some individuals report:

•Headaches or migraines
•Nausea
•General “food sensitivity” symptoms after consuming dyed foods

4. Gut microbiome / inflammation (emerging research)
Animal and early human research suggests possible:

•Changes in gut bacteria composition
•Mild inflammatory responses in some cases

There are 3 stages of being a raw vegan.

1 - Beginner.
Eating whatever raw vegan food you like.
Having juices, smoothies, dressings.
Having salt, oils, spices, herbs.
No cooked food.

2 - Intermediate.
No longer eating raw vegan foods like garlic, onions, ginger, herbs, spices, these are toxic to the body.
No salt, no oils.
Still having juices, smoothies, and dressings.

3 - Advanced.
No juicing, smoothies or dressings. Not using any machines or by hand to process raw food, this causes oxidisation to the produce, which lets nutrients escape.
Only eating fruit, vegetables, and salads in their natural state.

A person can experience a big shift in how they feel between the beginner and intermediate stages, this helps them stay in the intermediate stage over the longer term.

It can take decades to get to the advanced stage.
Each person is on their own journey, so no rush, and no judgement.

A person can remain in the beginner and in the intermediate stage for years, even many decades, and still feel amazing.
However, over the longer term, the advanced stage offers another level of energy and awareness, that is not available to the beginner and the intermediate.
This has to be experienced over the longer term to be appreciated.
