I do recommend self defense classes. I participate in them often. They can be deeply empowering. They teach practical skills, build confidence, and help you recognize that you are far more capable of protecting yourself than you may believe.
But like any external solution, they cannot resolve internal wounds.
If betrayal taught your subconscious that closeness is dangerous, you probably protect yourself by scanning every text for signs of incongruence, testing people instead of telling them what you need, or leaving the moment someone gets close enough to hurt you.
It can feel like discernment. It can feel like strength. But if it keeps you hyper-vigilant, disconnected, and trapped in the same unresolved grief, it is not creating the kind of safety you actually want.
And to be clear, another person’s decision to mistreat or abuse you is never your fault. Their behavior belongs to them.
But your healing belongs to you.
You cannot control whether every person you meet is honest, healthy, or safe. You can learn to recognize patterns, trust what you perceive, speak up when something feels off, set clear boundaries, and walk away when someone disregards them.
That deeper safety is built from the inside out.
When you reprogram the subconscious wounds and unmet needs that make unhealthy dynamics feel familiar, you stop projecting the past onto every new person. You become less likely to confuse intensity with intimacy, chaos with chemistry, or self-abandonment with love.
You can relax around people who consistently treat you well without dropping your standards or needing them to be perfect at all times, because you have the ability to advocate for your own comfort and protect yourself.
The pain of your past becomes something you’ve learned from instead of something you keep reliving and repeating.
When you’re ready to trade your anger, resentment and fears of betrayal for peace and clarity and actual safety, that’s when you jump in to learning the powerful self-hypnosis tools that resolve those old patterns at the level they exist: in your subconscious mind. …and you hire me to teach you.
