What Bodywork Sees That MRIs Don’t
Bodywork practitioners are trained to notice patterns long before pain shows up on imaging.
We observe how someone holds themselves — uneven shoulders, a head that subtly tilts, a guarded neck, a shallow breath, a slight limp, or how they position their body when sitting or standing.
We listen not just to symptoms, but to how the body is responding.
Often, clients will intuitively point to exactly where the work needs to begin — which isn’t where the pain is.
From there, skilled hands can feel areas of excessive tension, areas that lack tone, and places where the body is protecting itself.
Some practitioners are also highly perceptive — able to sense where energy or flow is restricted, and whether it’s more supportive to begin with the body or the energetic field first. Depth isn’t just about pressure — it’s about listening.

When it comes to migraines, bodywork often reveals:
• Fascial tension patterns
• Nervous system overload
• Protective holding in the neck, jaw, shoulders, diaphragm, etc.
Migraines aren’t just in the head — they’re often happening in the whole system.

This is why addressing only symptoms often isn’t enough.
