💚July is Juvenile Arthritis Awareness Month.💚
This awareness month is especially meaningful to our family.
Many people don’t realize that children can have arthritis too, and we’re incredibly grateful for the juvenile arthritis community that welcomed and supported us during our daughter’s journey. The encouragement, education, and connections we found made an overwhelming time feel a little less lonely.
We’re also deeply thankful for our rheumatologist who looked beyond an initial diagnosis when the pieces didn’t quite fit and standard treatments weren’t bringing the expected results. His willingness to keep asking questions ultimately led us to our daughter’s rare diagnosis of CACP syndrome. 🦓
Our journey reminded us that while many children have juvenile arthritis, some have rare joint conditions like CACP syndrome that closely resemble juvenile arthritis, but require a different understanding.
This July, we’re proud to stand alongside the juvenile arthritis community. Your support was an important part of our journey, and we remain committed to raising awareness for all children living with arthritis and related joint conditions. By listening, learning, and working together, we can help more families find answers, build support, and advance research for both common and rare conditions.
Every child deserves to be seen, heard, and understood. 💚🦓
