Would you put a BFR cuff on a 15-year-old three weeks after ACL surgery?

A new survey of 147 physical therapists says more than half of you wouldn't. And 9 out of 10 of those gave the same reason: the kid won't tolerate it.

Nick Giampetruzzi and the team at Connecticut Children's ran that survey. They also happen to have logged 535 BFR sessions on adolescents after ACL reconstruction, starting around nine days post-op. Zero DVTs. Zero hemorrhages. The most common complaint was an itchy leg, and about 9 in 10 sessions were finished as prescribed.

Nick joined Johnny and Kyle to go through everything the survey turned up: why pain is being used as a reason to skip BFR when the evidence points the other way, why week four is too late to start, why growth plate fears don't hold up, and why only half of clinicians have any idea when to take the cuff off.

His closing advice for anyone who treats kids: let them have the chance to earn it.

Big news for Delfi Gen 3 users — Two Patient Mode is here and it's a free software update.

Two independent channels. Two separate patients. Asynchronous operation — they don't need to start or finish at the same time. Each gets their own LOP measurement, autoregulation, and session log.

Your single-patient bilateral and unilateral workflows stay exactly as they are. This is purely additive.
