Found a full bolt of cloth I bought in South Africa during the political troubles. I am not a supporter of Mandela, I bought it because I collect disputed election and voting stuff.
You know, time and media change things. Now people see Mandela as a kindly grandfatherly type. They either forget or are to young or uninformed to remember he was trained by communists and was a dangerous terrorist as were others in that group. It didn’t take long for the country to fall into hard times socially and economically after control changed. I guess all revolutions are risky and some very nasty. Few give what they promised. These rolls of cloth were used at political rallies and after the people who supported that party cut the banners to make shirts and dresses and hats. I doubt much of this cloth is left.

We are heartbroken. This is Melanie. A member of our tattoo family, Poison, was killed in Albuquerque, N.M. Poison helped Charlie build the shop from scratch. He always had our back. A big loving heart in my homie. Love you Poison. My heart aches and I am numb...all my love...RIP Poison

The legendary Mr.Bobby Shaw is still in the VA hospital receiving treatment for pain. He is alert, has a good appetite and a strong voice. He looks good, but a tumor in his scapula is a great source of his pain. He will start radiation on that tumor next week to help shrink it and then decrease the pain, maybe about 5 treatments. He even had to get dots tattooed on him. Whenever he is ready to leave the VA when his pain is controllable with oral meds, he will live in beautiful Kerrville at the VA home. Start saving your gas money for visits... Melanie

Bobby Shaw will be leaving the VA hospital in a few days to stay in a long-term assisted living facility here. He was happy for the comments, prayers and hugs. He said "Thank you." He is talking and in a very good mood. He feels the love. -Melanie

Our dear friend and legendary tattooer, the great Bobby Shaw, has been admitted to the VA hospital. He body has been weakened by his fight against the cancer in his body. Bobby is a big hearted man and a man of his word. He is a great friend. Peace and love to all friends of the one and only, Bobby Shaw! -Melanie "buzz" I will keep you updated.

We are NOT associated with the tattoo shop which is at our old address. We noticed that fu***ng Google sent users to their shop when searching Honest Charlie's Tattooing. Reviews posted are mixed up with ours. Anyway, see you in Austin at the Star of Texas Tattoo convention at the end of this month.
