Live to inspire

Art has been proven to help children, youth, and adults by changing cognitive patterns to benefit over all mental and emotional well-being. However, our current schools and society are lacking in many art programs especially for children over the age of twelve. If children and the youth are not exposed to art within their home or school setting, where can they go to be able to learn, experience an

d develop their art skills? These are the same children and youth that struggle with self-confidence and self-management skills. Art is a tool that can be used with youth to develop the emotional skills needed to live a healthy and abundant life. Live to Inspire focuses on developing these young student’s art forms as well as their social emotional well-being. Students will explore more about who they are, their ideals as well as improving their art skills. For example, one of the lessons is called “You are the Fire.” In this lesson, the students color the fire in colors that show how they are feeling that day. The students are able to share how they are feeling by connecting their feelings to the colors on their page and though discovering their emotions through guided discussion questions. The students explain the feelings behind their choices and set positive goals to achieve their emotional well-being in a safe environment.
