5 Hills I Will Absolutely Die On As A Therapist

Let’s be real for a second: mental health advice online can get pretty watered down. But after years of sitting on the couch and doing this work, there are a few non-negotiable truths I will defend forever.
If you’re on a healing journey, here are 5 things you need to hear today:

1️⃣ Healing isn’t just in your head.
It’s holistic. You can’t just “think” your way out of trauma or burnout. True healing requires looking at your emotions, your body, your spirit, and the environment you live in every single day.

2️⃣ Boundaries are not mean. Say it with me: *Choosing myself is not an act of hostility against you.* Setting boundaries is simply a form of self-respect. If someone gets angry when you set a limit, they are just mad they can no longer take advantage of your lack of one.

3️⃣ Growth feels incredibly uncomfortable before it feels empowering.
Breaking old patterns feels weird. Saying "no" f“el” like a crisis at first. Doing things differently feels unsafe to an anxious nervous system. If it feels awkward or heavy right now, you aren't doi’g it wrong, you're ju’t growing.

4️⃣ The healing process is messy AF.
It is not a straight, beautiful line of progress. There will be weeks where you feel like a clinical masterpiece, and days where you’re crying over a spilled coffee. It’s deeply personal, and there is no "correct"“timelin”.

5️⃣ Your therapist connection matters.
Therapy isn't just abou’ the tools; it’s about the relationship. You deserve a therapist you actually click with, who feels safe, and who "gets" you. “t’s ” connection like no other, so don't settle if’it doesn’t feel right.

**Healing begins with safety**

For trauma survivors, therapy is not just about talking about difficult experiences. Before meaningful healing can happen, there must be a foundation of emotional, physical, and relational safety.

Trauma can teach the brain and body that the world is unpredictable, dangerous, or that trust comes at a cost. When a survivor feels safe in therapy, their nervous system can begin to relax, allowing them to process experiences without becoming overwhelmed.

Safety in therapy means:
✨ Being heard without judgment
✨ Having boundaries that are respected
✨ Moving at a pace that feels manageable
✨ Having the right to say “no” or “not yet”
✨ Knowing that your experiences and emotions are valid

Healing does not happen through pressure or force. It happens through connection, trust, and consistent experiences of safety.

A trauma-informed therapist understands that creating safety is not a one-time event, it is an ongoing process that allows survivors to regain a sense of control, empowerment, and hope.

💙 When people feel safe, they can begin to heal. When they heal, they can begin to thrive.

Happy June! ✨ We're officially entering the second half of the year, and it's the perfect moment to check in with yourself. Instead of viewing it as a looming deadline, think of this month as a welcoming doorway to reset and recommit to your growth.

Here are my intentions for June:
• Allow myself to be visible.
• Share my thoughts openly.
• Guide with core strength.
• Prioritize and restore balance.
• Flow with grace and purpose.
• Embrace a life of joy.

Mid-year is a time for recalibration. Not a deadline – a moment to pause and reflect. 🌿 What is your main intention for this month? Share it below! 👇🏼

A few years ago, I never could have imagined how much my life would change. What started from pain, survival, and a deep passion for helping others slowly turned into something bigger than I ever expected.

Building my practice has challenged me in every possible way, but it has also helped me grow into the person and leader I am today. There were moments of fear, self doubt, exhaustion, and wondering if I was capable of carrying the vision I had in my heart. But I kept going because I knew the work mattered.

As a therapist, trauma survivor, and practice owner, my mission has always been bigger than just running a business. I want to create a space where people feel safe, seen, and understood. I want women to know healing is possible. I want clinicians to feel supported and empowered as they grow too.

Being featured by Bold Journey Magazine gave me the opportunity to reflect on everything this journey has taught me about resilience, growth, leadership, and believing in yourself even when things feel uncertain.

I’m really proud of how far I’ve come, and even more excited for where things are going next.

You’re the listener. The reliable one. The person everyone turns to when their world is crashing down. You are an expert at holding space for everyone else’s anxiety, stress, and heavy days.

But who holds space for you?

Carrying it all alone gets exhausting, even if you’re used to it. You don’t have to be the strong one in every room. Therapy is the one place where you get to put the heavy bags down and let someone else support you for an hour.
If you’re ready to finally have a safe container for your own thoughts and feelings, we’re here. Let us hold space for you.
