Recently, Araceli nominated Pawsitive Teams for the prestigious County Volunteer of the Year award, a recognition that celebrates exceptional dedication to community service. Barbara M, Therapy Dog Program Manager had the honor of accepting this award on behalf of the Therapy Teams, whose ongoing commitment has profoundly influenced the lives of youth at YTC. Special thanks to Deb L for being an amazing site leader. The probation department mentioned “with more than 1,260 hours of volunteer service to our youth population, you make a meaningful impact.”
Pawsitive Teams volunteers, who, alongside their therapy dogs, provide comfort, support, and encouragement to young people facing challenging circumstances. Their presence goes beyond mere companionship; it fosters emotional healing, builds trust, and nurtures resilience among the youth they serve.
The recognition bestowed upon Pawsitive Teams is a testament to the power of volunteerism combined with the unique bond between humans and animals. Each volunteer’s contribution creates ripples of positive change. It is a privilege to be part of such a compassionate and dedicated group.
The journey of making a positive difference is ongoing, and the impact of Pawsitive Teams will undoubtedly grow, touching more lives and strengthening the community one paw at a time.
