February Challenge - S. Thompson, Director of Communication

Our challenge to each of you this month is to look for something positive that deserves recognition as you go through your days.

February is the month many of us celebrate with hearts, chocolate, flowers, cupids and exchange tokens of appreciation. Kids share treats and valentine’s cards with classmates and we see colors of reds and pinks throughout our little corners of the world. It’s fun, it lifts us up and reminds us that “love” is at the center of what defines us. And “love” can be defined in any way that suits you - your partner, your children, your siblings, your friends and even your furry family members. Your “love” of hiking, cooking, reading, dancing, whatever brings you joy.

The goal here is to look for pockets of warmth and positivity as you make your way through the month. Did someone go out of their way to make your day just a little bit easier? Did a co-worker take on a task that you’ve been struggling with to help you get it done? Did a family member reach out to check in on you and make sure you knew they were thinking of you?

You find what you seek. So, this month, go looking for these little moments of positivity that appear throughout your days and for most of us go unacknowledged. I guarantee you that you’ll find something that puts a smile in your heart.

And, for those of you that are overachievers, be that spark in someone’s day this month. You make that call to check in on a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, just to say hello. Smile at a stranger in line at the grocery store and wish them a great day. You never know how much a kind word or positive interaction with someone can bring value to their day. And, to yours!

Happy February friends – go seek “love” this month in whatever form it speaks to you!

Another WRS conference in the rearview and this one was one for the books!

What an incredible event - amazing speakers, dynamic discussions and diversity of session topics. I know we all took home new ideas and thoughts about how to better manage our teams at home & how to better navigate the ever-changing landscape of healthcare.

And, it can't go without saying that the connections made every year are invaluable. Colleagues and peers that fly in from all over the country to network in one of the coolest cities is the best!

We hope you all had a blast in Vegas, see you again soon!
