The Buddha thought that desire was the root of all suffering. By that logic, wouldn't gratitude then be the root of all happiness and peace? Once we flnd contentment and joy in the smallest of things, the world transforms into a garden of possibility. Be thankful and share your gratitude with those around you. Gratitude is a gift that keeps giving. Count your blessings and you'll And that they are numerous. Express gratitude and live by it, because gratitude brings peace and happiness and turns what you have into enough.
Know that you will have more of what you are grateful for.
*Mantra Action: On your birthday, make a list of people, experiences, feelings, relationships, and anything else you can think of that you are thankful for-as many as the age vou're turning. Making this an annual, simple exercise will ensure that not a year goes by when you don't sit down and appreciate all the things in life that bring you joy. If compiling a year's worth of thanks into one day seems daunting, start small by gratitude journaling from day to day or even week to week.
