Southern California clinicians, we have something special coming your way.

On August 14, 2026, Geek Therapy® is hosting a CE workshop at the San Diego Comic-Con Museum that we think is going to stick with you long after you leave the building.

The workshop is called "Bigger on the Inside: Fandom, Identity, and the Inner World," presented by Ariel Landrum, LMFT, ATR. Inspired by the Doctor Who TARDIS, this 90-minute experiential session digs into the complexity of identity, the gap between how clients are perceived and how they experience themselves, and how fandom-informed and art therapy-informed approaches can open up that inner world in the clinical space.

Participants will work through an "outside/inside" art-making activity and walk away with 1.5 NBCC CE credits, 1.5 ART CE credits, and a ready-to-use intervention for clients, students, groups, and communities.

Horror has a way of finding us everywhere: in comics, film, folklore, haunted attractions, and beyond. From creeping dread to full-on spectacle, the genre keeps evolving while holding onto the fears that make it so compelling.

Geek Therapy® is bringing "From Page to Scream! Horror Across Media" to San Diego Comic-Con, featuring voices from performance, writing, film, and horror history, including scare actors. We're exploring why horror continues to thrive across media, and why we keep coming back for more.

If the TARDIS taught us anything, it’s that what’s on the outside doesn’t tell the whole story.

On August 14, Geek Therapy® is hosting a GT Live CE workshop at the Comic-Con Museum: “Bigger on the Inside: Fandom, Identity, and the Inner World.”

Ariel Landrum, LMFT, ATR, is leading a 90-minute experiential session using a fandom-informed and art therapy-informed lens to explore identity, self-perception, and the inner worlds clients carry into clinical spaces.

Attendees will create an “outside/inside” art piece as a practical intervention they can take back to their own practice. Museum access is included after the workshop, so you can spend the afternoon exploring the exhibits.

Calling all Whovians! We are hosting a GT Live CE workshop in San Diego on August 14, and we would love to see you there!

"Bigger on the Inside: Fandom, Identity, and the Inner World" is a 90-minute experiential CE workshop at the San Diego Comic-Con Museum, presented by Ariel Landrum, LMFT, ATR. Using the TARDIS as a guiding metaphor, the session explores how fandom-informed and art therapy-informed approaches can support identity exploration, emotional expression, and therapeutic safety with clients.
Participants will engage in an art-making activity, creating an "outside/inside" piece that reflects the gap between how we are perceived and how we experience ourselves. You'll leave with a practical intervention you can adapt for work with clients, students, groups, and communities.

We have been saying for years that this work deserves a home in the academic literature, and now it does. The Journal of Therapeutic and Applied Geek and Gaming Culture (TAGGC) is officially accepting submissions for its first issue.

Whether you are a clinician using TTRPGs in therapy, an educator building community through fandom, or a researcher exploring identity and geek culture, TAGGC was built for your work. The journal is fully peer-reviewed, blind, and open to submissions from professionals across disciplines.

The submission deadline for the first issue is June 30, 2026. Papers submitted after that date will be considered for the following issue.
Submit your work at journal.taggc.org and help us build the research foundation this field deserves.

Geek Therapy® is bringing a brand-new CE workshop to the San Diego Comic-Con Museum on August 14, 2026, and we think Southern California clinicians are going to love this one.

"Bigger on the Inside: Fandom, Identity, and the Inner World" is a 90-minute experiential workshop presented by Ariel Landrum, LMFT, ATR. Using the TARDIS as a jumping-off point, Ariel will guide participants through a fandom-informed and art therapy-informed exploration of identity, self-perception, and the hidden inner worlds clients carry into the therapy room.

You will leave with 1.5 NBCC CE credits, 1.5 ART CE credits, and a hands-on art-based intervention you can adapt immediately for your clinical work.
The day starts with lunch and a meet-and-greet at noon, the workshop runs from 12:30 to 2:00 PM, and after dismissal you are free to explore the museum exhibits until 5:00 PM.
