To be nourished... What does that actually mean on a physical level? Is it the food you eat or the wave of bliss that comes over from a really sweet deep hug or a day on the river?
There are so many reasons and so many things that pull us away from the depths and truth of our body. Whether it’s the urge to avoid emotional or physical pain, mental stimuli or a project you just need to finish. Yet, within our flesh and bones is where so much of our wisdom, our creativity and our peace and pleasure lives.
In times I feel numbness or the desire to run anywhere but inside, my flesh beckons me to return and soon; I am greeted by the waves of relief that wash when attention is provided to the place I call home. Touch is revealing. Especially to yourself. You get to witness the places you want to escape, the stickiness that feels too dense and if you’re patient and compassionate enough, the immensity of aliveness & pleasure that lives in the presence of your own hands melting into your own flesh. You can only be touched as deeply as you allow & when you practice with yourself; you get to know your boundaries, your preferences and your most tender and alive places.
Nourished is a circle where you get to feel and stay with yourself, as deeply or softly as you wish. I’ll see you there 💗🍯🪽✨🌹
The rose in these photos is a new friend I gifted to myself called distant drums. I feel that the body is this. A distant, yet so close drum, that is ever beckoning, ever calling, ever alive just waiting for you to join the circle and remember your rhythm.
