Let's talk about body language. Not only does our body language send clear messages to those around us, it sends these same messages to ourselves. When you are feeling upset or triggered, pay attention to what your body does. For me, my chest tightens, my posture slumps, and my shoulders pull forward, wrapping around my heart to protect it.
Conversely, when I take a power pose - the Wonder Woman (hands on his, legs apart, tall posture) is my favorite - I feel strong and capable. So, the next time you need a little extra "oomph," try striking a power pose! It's especially helpful when I need to tackle a large household task, like a mountain of laundry. I stand over the laundry, striking my best Wonder Woman pose, and take back some of my power. The laundry doesn't seem so daunting when you're Wonder Woman 😁
