Reiki (pronounced RAY-key) is a traditional holistic mind-body healing art from Japan. The positive effects of Reiki can be quite remarkable. Seeing is believing - you have to experience it and you’ll how amazing it can be. Jikiden Reiki is Reiki which was preserved in Japan in its original tradition, without western influences. Dr. Maria Danilychev, M.D. is Jikiden Reiki Shihan certified to teach Reiki by the Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan. Dr. Danilychev is also a practicing Western Medicine physician with over twenty years of experience and board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and as a Medical Director. Each Reiki session is usually performed in a quiet area with dim lighting, with the client lying down (or sitting, if unable to lie flat). Reiki involves light touch, with the Reiki practitioner placing his or her hands over different areas of the client's body, promoting relaxation, energy flow, and natural self-healing. The client stays fully clothed during each 60-120 minute session. Reiki is a very gentle holistic process and can be used as often as daily, depending on each client's needs.
