my baby arrived at his chiro appointment shirtless- because he spit up in the car seat…again.
I was TRIGGERED.
But why? It’s just spit up? He’s a baby, that’s what they do.
But it feels so much bigger than just some spit up.
These little triggers-
•comments from a stranger
•shoes left out or a spoon in the sink
•your partner sleeping peacefully during a 1am feed
are all examples of things that can spark a strong emotional & physical reaction in us as mothers. These triggers often touch on stress, fear, guilt, overwhelm, identity, or past experiences that we may not even be aware of. 🌀
Mom triggers can often be a sign that a mother needs more support, rest, softness, and space to be cared for. If you’re feeling constantly overstimulated, reactive, touched out, or overwhelmed, you’re not alone… believe me.
This journey is not meant to be experienced alone or in silence & being triggered does not make you a bad mom. Here’s your invitation to talk about it. You’d be surprised to find out that we’re all experiencing the same. exact. thing.❤️🩹
