Here’s the thing nobody tells you when you’re staring at a parenting plan template at midnight: the hard part was never the schedule. It’s trusting yourself enough to know what actually matters and how to hold your line (especially if you spent years reading someone else’s moods before you could even ask what you needed!)

That’s not a legal skill. That’s a self-trust skill. And it’s one you can build.

This month in the Detangling Community we’re doing a live workshop on exactly this! walking you through real parenting plans, the questions I keep getting asked, and how to stop negotiating the parts that were never up for negotiation.

If you’re in the thick of writing (or rewriting) yours, come sit with people who get it. 🔗 link in bio to join

A good parenting plan doesn’t predict their consistency. It actually removes the need for you to predict it and know that your kid will still be taken care of.

Default schedules, automatic, tiebreakers, and built-in consequences for missed windows all do the work that hoping they’ll be consistent was doing.

If you’re ready to learn how to create a solid parenting plan, and get your questions answered, make sure you get into the community before the parenting plan workshop on September 10th. Comment “parenting plan” and I can send you over all the info or you can go click the link in my bio

All three of these things would have saved me time, emotional distress, A LOT OF MONEY, and set me up for success (aka space and healthy coparenting) after we were finalized.

All three of these things are waiting for you in the Community so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.

Instant access to a workshop with a CDFA, an upcoming workshop focused on parenting plans and weekly support for you to break cycles and have a divorce that actually works for you.

If you’ve been doing all of the things listed on this reel, but still can’t come up with a decision… it’s because you’re trying to solve a decision making problem with what you actually have is a self trust problem.

When you’ve spent years reading another person‘s mood before you speak, pushing down your needs so he doesn’t shut down, and explaining yourself into exhaustion, which eventually leads to silence… your nervous system gets really good at reading the room and other people’s energy, but it becomes really bad at tuning into YOU.

If this is you, I want you to start with these three things.
1. Stop making the pro con list and start tracking your body notice when your chest feels tight, when your stomach drops, when you’re holding your breath instead of exhaling start tuning into you. What makes you feel good and what is working against you?
2. Stop looking for validation in “is this normal?” and instead start challenging your reality through a different lens. “would I let this happen to my daughter?” “ would I want this for someone I love?” “ what would I tell my best friend if she was going through the same thing?”.
3. Start taking small, low stake actions that are just for you. This will start building trust within yourself and building evidence that you can make good, sound decisions.

This reel isn’t to rush you towards divorce or talk you into staying. It’s to remind you that you cannot make a decision this big from a place where you don’t trust your own perception. Rebuilding yourself trust is the first step. And if you need more help with that, comment SELF TRUST

If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that divorcing someone with narcissistic traits isn’t just a legal process…its learning to trust yourself again while someone is actively working to make you doubt everything.

Inside the Detangling Community we walk through these exact steps:
the financial prep
the priority-setting
And the support system with people who’ve been there and professionals who get it.
