Let's not get it twisted, queens. The health industry was built by making us feel like we're not "doing it right."​​​​​​​​

Here are 5 supposed health trends that you may have tried (or want to) and some reasons why they might not be for you:​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
👉🏼 Low-carb diets (when used long-term) can lead to gut imbalance and cause reliance on foods that raise cholesterol and affect other organs like our heart and kidney...not to mention it'll make us hangry 😂​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
👉🏼 Intermittent fasting (for more than 12-14 hrs) can skyrocket blood sugar levels, stress out your body, cause hormonal imbalance, and give you less time to get all your daily nutrients in.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
👉🏼 A "power morning" where you cram everything in when you wake up can leave you more stressed and burnt out.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
👉🏼 Aggressive workouts = more stress on the body, which us autoimmune folks don't need.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
👉🏼 Quick fixes + band-aid approaches don't last...and quite frankly, they suck!​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
To be clear, there is research that shows that some of these things CAN work for SOME people and in SOME cases, but that's the problem...​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
We're being fed this information like it's the only way to be! And when we can't adhere to these standards, we continue to feel like we're "failing at health" and that's just not true.​​​​​​​​

When we lose steam with goals and resolutions we try to set, it means they weren't for us in the first place.​​​​​​​​

✨How do I actually want to FEEL and how can I let these feelings guide the way to setting sustainable lifestyle shifts?​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
Release the pressure that the new year can bring and focus on creating the ✨lifestyle✨ that you truly want. There's absolutely no rush.​​​​​​​​

It's so easy to get preoccupied with why you're not feeling better or making progress on your health goals that you can totally what's really lying at the root of it all.​​​​​​​​

And through my 15-year journey with MS and working with my fellow autoimmune warrior clients, this is a BIG root issue: your beliefs around your self-worth and being "enough."​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
And these beliefs are running in the background as we make everyday choices, actions, and habits.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
If you have big health goals that you can't seem to make progress on, or you're just tired of feeling like you can't win, here are 3 journal prompts to help you reconnect with your sense of self-worth.​​​​​​​​

✨ Go inward and take stock of what beliefs and stories may be contributing to your sense of being or doing "enough." Free write about how that makes you feel, and whether or not these stories are actually true.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
✨ How are these stories and beliefs are influencing your current habits and actions? In your ideal healthy lifestyle, what habits and actions do you have?​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
✨ List all the ways in which you are inherently enough. Tap into your humanity and give yourself that love and compassion, knowing that we're not meant to do it all perfectly.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​

We feel betrayed and sabotaged. We start to lose trust in our body and ultimately learn to hold a grudge against it...​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Release and surrender are incredibly healing for our mind and body, but it's easier said than done...​​​​​​​​

I have to remind myself constantly that it's a process and celebrate how far I've come.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
I've gone from pushing myself to exhaustion and numerous MS relapses to a life of more and more balance.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
No, I'm not perfect. I'm human! But I'm so proud of the way I continue to show up, check myself when I'm pushing too hard, and lovingly guide myself to more rest, ease, and abundant energy.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
And it's through this practice, and evening out all the ups and downs, that gives me more confidence in my body, health, and life.​​​​​​​​
​​​​​​​​
And that's what I want for you. To feel empowered through your health journey, to have belief in yourself, and for your body to feel that more and more.​​​​​​​​
