Scalp microneedling uses tiny, controlled microchannels to activate your body's natural repair response supporting growth factor activity and creating a healthier environment for stronger, fuller looking hair.

Research suggests it may help:

✨ Improve the appearance of hair density
✨ Support thicker, stronger-looking strands
✨ Stimulate areas of early thinning
✨ Encourage healthier-looking scalp tissue
✨ Complement a professionally guided hair-growth plan

You may be a great candidate if you're noticing:

🌿 Gradual thinning along the part, crown or temples
🌿 Mild to moderate pattern hair loss
🌿 Hair that looks finer or less dense than it used to
🌿 Early thinning you'd like to address proactively
🌿 A healthy scalp without active irritation or infection

**A word of care**

Hair shedding has many causes: hormones, stress, nutrient deficiencies, medications, and underlying conditions. If you're experiencing sudden shedding, bald patches, scalp pain, sores, or unexplained hair loss, please see your physician or dermatologist, first. Certain health conditions may also require medical clearance before treatment.

Hair grows slowly. Meaningful change takes patience, consistency, and a plan designed for *your* scalp. 💛

Be scared. Do it anyway. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I wanted a motorcycle when I was 28, but the timing wasn't right. The "what ifs" kept me parked on the sidelines.

Fifteen years later, the timing finally feels right.

The funny thing is, the "what if" has changed. It used to be, What if something goes wrong? Now it's, What if I never do it?

Getting older has a way of clarifying things. The dreams we put on hold don't disappear, they wait patiently for us to come back to them.

I've probably got another 20 years on this planet. Maybe 30 if I'm lucky. That's not a countdown, it's an invitation.

An invitation to treat my inner child to all the things we couldn't afford, weren't allowed to do, or were too afraid to try when we were younger.

So now that you're in your 40s (or beyond), what dream is ready to be lived?

Maybe it's learning to swim.
Maybe it's crocheting a magnificent blanket.
Taking a solo trip to a city you've always wanted to explore.
Learning to code.
Planting a garden.
Deadlifting 135 pounds.
Sleeping a full 7 hours a night.

Not every dream has to be grand.

Sometimes the smallest goals create the biggest changes.

And if pain, low energy, stress, or difficulty staying consistent are getting in the way, let's talk.

Chinese medicine and Metabolic Reset programs can help support the health, energy, and resilience needed to build a life that feels fully lived.

What's one thing your younger self would be excited to see you doing today?

Doing something completely different in my 40s is wild.

I read somewhere that a lot of successful people don’t really hit their stride until their 40s and sometimes even their 50s! And that stayed with me.

Because moving in a new direction and changing the shape of your life is scary.

But the need for change had been sitting deep in my bones for years. It needed somewhere to go.

And somehow, it came out in the most whimsical way: pink walls, soft light, settling nervous systems, glow, healing, and a little bit of magic.

Pink has shown up during so many important seasons of my life. It’s soft. It’s playful. But it’s also alive; a lighter shade of nourishing red, the color of blood, warmth, and vitality.

I know the work I do can feel intimidating. Needles in your body for 25 minutes? A treatment plan that asks for time, money, and trust? I take this seriously.

But serious doesn’t have to mean solemn.

If you’re stepping outside your comfort zone by stepping into my clinic, I want you to know that I’m creating a peaceful, caring space for you to land.

A place to release the stressors of the day. A place to expand your capacity to let go, receive, and feel held.

And yes, I want it to feel different.

Because sometimes being in a different kind of space gives us permission to try something different, too.

So step out of your comfort zone by stepping into mine.

We’re all in this together. 💗

I've talked about this with most of you over the past couple of weeks. Here's the official announcement:

Qi Time Acupuncture will be closing on June 30th.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your health journey. Your trust has meant the world to me, and I’m deeply grateful for the time we’ve shared together.

For those who would like to continue care, there are several talented acupuncturists in Silicon Valley, including the teams at Box Acupuncture, Lokahi Acupuncture, and Numo Acupuncture.

I’m closing Qi Time to make space for a new chapter: Aura Divina Wellness & Acu, which will focus on microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, and facial rejuvenation acupuncture.

If you’d like to learn more about these services, please reply to this with the word "Divina", and I’ll send a link for a free, virtual consultation when the new business is ready to open.

Thank you again for all of your trust.

Yours in health,

Sophia

Angels Landing is a legendary, strenuous 5.4-mile hike in Zion National Park, with 1,500 feet of elevation gain and a final half-mile chain section that requires a special permit. We didn’t hike the famous chains, but the view from Scout Lookout was spectacular (unless you have a horrendous fear of heights.)

We started under the direct desert sun, 86⁰ with 13% humidity, the concrete trail reflected the high desert heat back at us, and I was questioning my life choices.

This was my first real hiking adventure in several years, and my body was far from what I would have considered “trail ready.” But I kept walking. I took as many breaks as I needed, sipped water, practiced qigong in motion, and prayed to Mama Earth for strength to make it to the top.

By the time I reached Walter’s Wiggles, the famous series of 21 steep, tightly packed switchbacks, I understood why the trail has such a reputation. Every turn asked for more breath, more patience, more trust in my body. But once I stepped out of the beating sun and into the cool shade, I found my pace again.

Somewhere between the switchbacks, prayers, sweat, and second snack of the day, I realized something: my body was actually functioning.

I'd been on the Metabolic Reset Program for three weeks, and even though I had my doubts (anything with words like "reset" or "detox" gives me serious pause) I could FEEL the difference.

My hips and low back kept step. My neck and shoulders felt fine. My energy stayed steady. Aside from the occasional knee pain that Evil Bone Water handled quickly, my body felt surprisingly good.

I kept expecting to feel broken down, but instead, I felt capable.

When we finally reached Scout Lookout, the view was spectacular. But the feeling of accomplishment was even better.

I walked into Zion unsure if my body could carry me up that mountain.

I walked out, reminded that I'm stronger than I thought.

I'm not here to convince anyone, but if you're curious about what I've been doing differently, feel free to DM me.
