Why I Started Primal Balance Nutrition
I started Primal Balance Nutrition out of a deep love and passion for both the planet and its people.
From day one, I made a vow: I would not build a business that leaves a scar on this beautiful world we all call home.
Sadly, the meal prep industry has become dominated by companies that deliver low-quality food packed in plastic containers and ice packs—most of which end up in landfills. They support mass farming practices that damage the environment and prioritize profit over health.

I knew I had to take a different path. Our dollar is our loudest vote, and I choose to invest in local farmers and producers who are doing things right—those who care deeply for the earth and the people they serve.

At Primal Balance Nutrition, we live by a clear standard:

Primal Balance Nutrition makes eating healthy delicious and diverse. We never compromise on the quality of our food and that’s why we are fully organic/non-gmo. In addition to being free of nuts, dairy, and gluten.

We also forgo the use of plastic boxes and insulated bags. In the next year, we will be moving towards 100% compostable containers with the mission of sourcing all of our menu from San Diego farmers in the future as well.

As a business owner we can always do better. It’s up to us to do business on the most sustainable level possible. The mission is as you grow you become more sustainable for the sake of our planet and future generations to come. Be the change.

In order to get lean and muscular you have to eat no carbs and go keto said every marketing lie ever. O wait you also need to fast for 16 hours everyday and do not eat any grains those are inflammatory. Lies on lies on lies.

All of the above is a form of caloric restriction. At the end of the day getting lean and building muscle is a result of a proper caloric consumption based on your body. Eating at maintenance calories will generally create the above body recomposition from my own experience. In conjunction with your activity of choice mine happens to be surfing/weight lifting.

If going low carb helps you lose weight, because you enjoy eating more fat, then awesome. If fasting helps you do the same, then go for it. At the end of the day whatever you choose is simply a tool and not some magical weight loss and health fix.

Personally, I consume carbs, fats, and my protein is always high. I simply adhere to energy balance. Meaning if I just sat on my butt for 6 hours on a plane, I do not have the greatest demand for glycogen or a lot of food, so I will most likely stick too meat, veggies, and low glycemic fruit.

I really wanted to post this, because I see a lot of folks really scratching their heads when it comes to following certain dietary protocols for weight loss and most end up falling off. Be wary of cutting out any macronutrient meaning protein, fat, and carb. All 3 play vital roles in the human body, especially carbs. 🤫 don’t tell the keto people that though 😁

Contrary to belief most Americans do not consume enough high quality protein with a complete amino acid profile.

Well Alec doesn’t brown rice have protein in it?! Yes it does, but it’s not a complete protein and lacks the amino acid profile to be complete. In addition when it comes to plant sources of protein you have to consume 2-3x as much to get the adequate amount of amino acids needed for muscle building and to prevent sarcopenia (muscle loss in later years)

Plant sources of protein like quinoa and h**p hearts do have all 9 essential amino acids. I personally love getting the best of both worlds and combining animal/plant proteins together.

When you start consuming enough protein you’ll notice the following:

1.) Increased satiety (feeling full) between meals. Means less unnecessary snacking.

2.) Stable blood sugar and mood. No more sugar crashes. Aka face plants into your desk.

3.) Increase in lean muscle tissue. Muscle is one of greatest organs when it comes to longevity. It’s within your best interest to have as much muscle as possible going into later life.

4.) Good for your bones. There is myth that animal protein is not good for your bones. However, most long term studies indicate that animal protein has major benefits for your bone health.

5.) Helps maintain a healthy weight.

6.) Helps your body repair itself after injury.

7.) Does not harm healthy kidneys.

8.) Less dependency for caffeine.
