Sometimes noticing means being willing to question what first seems true.

We carry conclusions with us.

This works for me.
This doesn’t work for me.
I’m good at this.
I don’t need that.
This is just who I am.

But some of those conclusions were formed by an earlier version of us.

Before changing anything, it can be worth looking again.

Is this still true?

Or have I changed?

Support doesn't always look the way I thought it would.

I'm learning to recognize the wisdom, compassion, encouragement, and simple acknowledgment that comes through the people already in my life.

Sometimes being seen is support.

As August comes to a close, I've been reflecting on what it really means to trust ourselves.

I've realized that self-trust isn't built in one defining moment.

It's built in the quiet choices we make every day.

Each time we pause long enough to notice what is true.

Each time we honor a boundary instead of abandoning ourselves.

Each time we choose alignment over approval.

None of these moments seem extraordinary on their own.

But together, they change the relationship we have with ourselves.

Perhaps that's what trust has always been.

Not certainty.

Not perfection.

But the quiet confidence that whatever life asks of us next, we will meet it honestly.

And that is enough.

Reflection

Looking back over the past month, what is one way you've learned to trust yourself a little more?

One of the greatest gifts Reiki has given me isn't certainty.

It's space.

Space to slow down.

Space to notice.

Space to hear the thoughts beneath the noise and the wisdom beneath the fear.

People sometimes ask if Reiki tells me what to do.

It doesn't.

What it has done is help me become more aware of myself.

And that awareness has changed the way I make decisions.

Over time, I've learned that the answers I'm searching for are often quieter than I expected.

Reiki didn't give me a new voice.

It helped me hear my own more clearly.

Reflection

What might you hear if you gave yourself a little more space to listen?

We often imagine self-trust as something we need during life's biggest decisions.

But I've found it is built much earlier than that.

It's built on ordinary days.

An ordinary Tuesday.

It's choosing to rest when your body needs rest.

It's honoring a commitment you made to yourself.

It's saying no when you would have automatically said yes.

It's speaking honestly, even when it feels uncomfortable.

It's recognizing that something no longer fits the person you're becoming.

None of these moments seem remarkable on their own.

Yet each one quietly says,

"I can depend on myself."

Over time, those ordinary choices become the foundation beneath the extraordinary ones.

Self-trust isn't built all at once.

It's built in the everyday moments that no one else may ever notice.

Reflection

What ordinary choice could you make today that your future self would thank you for?

Some decisions never come with complete certainty.

Over time, I've learned that trusting myself isn't about making perfect choices. It's about listening honestly, choosing with integrity, and knowing I'll continue learning along the way.

This reflection explores what changed when I stopped waiting for certainty before moving forward.

One of the questions I return to most often is surprisingly simple:

What if I already know?

Not every decision.

Not every answer.

But the next honest step.

I've noticed that when we feel uncertain, our first instinct is often to gather more information.

Sometimes that's exactly what we need.

And sometimes we've already gathered enough.

What we're really waiting for is permission.

Permission to trust what we've come to understand through experience.

Coaching has taught me that the answers people are searching for are often closer than they realize.

The conversation isn't about giving them something they don't have.

It's about creating enough space for them to recognize what is already there.

Reflection

Take a quiet moment and consider these questions:

• What decision have I been postponing?

• What do I already know to be true?

• If I trusted myself just a little more, what might I do next?

You don't have to know the entire path.

You only need enough trust to take the next honest step.

There have been times when I kept asking for advice long after I had gathered enough information.

I was not always looking for a new perspective.

Sometimes I was hoping someone else would make the decision feel certain.

Outside reassurance can be helpful. It can help us see what we have missed, consider another possibility, or understand a situation more fully.

But reassurance becomes something different when we use it to avoid listening to ourselves.

Discernment is not about shutting out other voices. It is about learning to hear them without losing your own.

The next time you feel the urge to ask one more person what they think, pause first.

What do you already know?

There are moments in life that only make sense when we look back.

A quiet hesitation.

A feeling we couldn't explain.

A decision that didn't make sense to anyone else.

Sometimes we call those moments coincidence.

Sometimes we call them intuition.

Whatever name we give them, I've come to believe they are invitations to pay attention.

One of the things I've learned is that self-trust doesn't begin the moment we become certain.

It begins the moment we start noticing.

Noticing what feels true.

Noticing what creates peace.

Noticing the quiet wisdom that has been present far longer than we realized.

You may already trust yourself more than you think.

Perhaps what you're learning isn't how to find your inner voice.

Perhaps you're learning how to recognize it.

Reflection

Can you think of a time when you knew something before you could explain it?
