Sunday!

Mango season is one of my favorite times of the year.

There’s something special about gathering around fresh fruit, slowing down, and enjoying meaningful conversation.

This Sunday we’re returning to Lake Mayer Park, where the Savannah Black Raw Vegan Meetup first began in August 2017.
Lake Mayer has been part of my life since childhood, filled with memories, and it has also been home to many of our meetups over the years…including when we returned to the park in 2023. It feels good to gather there once again.

Bring Your Own Fruit: Nourishment & Community
Sunday, June 28
1–3 PM
Lake Mayer Park

Bring your favorite fruit, a blanket or chair, and come enjoy an afternoon of intentional community in nature.

Bring a fruit. Bring yourself. Build connections.

What’s your favorite summer fruit?

I’d love to know what fruit you’ll be bringing or enjoying this summer.

During a coaching session, I shared the phrase: “You have to use your stress to stretch.”

One thing I’m learning through my graduate studies and coaching is that lasting change isn’t just about motivation. It’s about having strategies to navigate the stress, barriers, and challenges that inevitably come up.

As a coach, one of the things I support clients with is recognizing their stress patterns and finding healthy ways to manage them. Life is going to life, even when you’re striving to accomplish your goals. Challenges will come up.

That’s why it’s important to think about potential barriers ahead of time and create strategies that help you move through them. Some strategies may be simple, such as taking a few deep, cleansing breaths. Others may be more involved, such as creating an environment that supports the changes you’re trying to make.

Think about exercise. If your goal is to get stronger, you don’t stay at the same level forever. Over time, you gradually challenge yourself with greater resistance. That stress, when managed appropriately, helps you grow stronger.

The same principle can apply to other areas of life. Growth often requires stretching beyond what feels comfortable while also having the tools and support needed to navigate the process.

How do you cope with stress when challenges arise in your life?

Stay tuned for a deeper dive on Substack and YouTube.

Raw Vegan Pizza Special 🍕🌱

This weekend’s pizza orders are complete!

Featuring a handcrafted flaxseed, sunflower seed, and tomato crust layered with creamy cashew cheese, sun-dried tomato sauce, and organic vegetables, finished with almond parmesan.

Each pizza is made from scratch and requires approximately 24 hours to prepare, making it one of the most time-intensive items I offer.

For Father’s Day weekend, orders also included a complimentary sample of my Signature Kale Salad with Infinite Sauce.

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest and to those who continue to support Infinitely Raw. Your support allows me to continue creating fresh, handcrafted raw vegan meals in Savannah.

Would you try raw vegan pizza? 🍕✨

Eating vegan or plant-based is not the only way to live a healthy life.

I say this as someone who has lived a plant-based lifestyle for 14 years. My goal has never been to tell people what they should or should not eat.

Sometimes when people begin eating differently, their intentions may be good, but their approach can come across as militant or judgmental. I have also seen wellness professionals focus so heavily on telling people what to do that they overlook something important: lasting change is rarely created through pressure.

As a coach, I believe the client is in the driver's seat. My role is not to tell someone how to live their life, but to support them in identifying their goals, exploring possibilities, and creating accountability in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.

Working with different people has taught me that change is about much more than motivation. Lack of support, limited access to information, an unsupportive environment, mental and physical health challenges, and the absence of community can all make change difficult.

The most powerful way to inspire others is often to lead by example.

I'll be sharing more thoughts on this topic on YouTube and Substack.

In my Research and Grants class, my professor asked: What barriers exist when applying research to health and wellness practice?

That question had me reflecting on my own experiences in the community.

One barrier that immediately came to mind is funding.

Some people see a need in their community and want to make a difference, but they may not know how to access funding to support their work. While there are grant-writing classes and resources available, many focus on nonprofits. What about the people who want to serve their communities without creating a nonprofit or working for an organization?

Without funding, it becomes much more difficult to sustain programs, scale impact, or compensate qualified professionals for their time and expertise. Much of this work becomes a labor of love, often funded out of pocket.

Another barrier is communication. Research may support an idea, but if people cannot relate to the language, the message can be lost. Even when I say "vegan" or "raw vegan," I can see people trying to process what those terms mean. For me, the focus has never been on labels—it's about incorporating more whole foods into our daily lives.

Cultural relevance matters too. People are more likely to engage with programming when they can see themselves reflected in it. Building trust requires understanding the community, speaking its language, and honoring its culture.

There is so much more to say on this topic, and I look forward to exploring it further on YouTube and Substack.

What barriers do you think exist when trying to turn research into real-world change?

🍉 Bring Your Own Fruit: Nourishment and Community 🍉

Join us for an afternoon of fruit, connection, and intentional community at Lake Mayer Park.

Bring your favorite fruit to enjoy or share (optional), along with a blanket or chair so you can relax and get comfortable.

📅 Sunday, June 28, 2026
⏰ 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 Lake Mayer Park
1850 E Montgomery Cross Rd, Savannah, GA

This meetup holds special meaning for me because Lake Mayer is where I hosted the very first Savannah Black Raw Vegan Meetup in August 2017. The park is also connected to many fond childhood memories growing up in Savannah.

When I brought the meetup back outdoors in 2023, Lake Mayer once again became a gathering place for wellness, conversation, and community. Returning here feels like coming full circle. Celebrating nearly 9 years of gathering, connection, and community.

🍉 Bring Fruit. Bring Yourself. Build Connections.

What to Bring:✔️ Fruit (optional)✔️ Blanket or chair✔️ Water✔️ An open mind and welcoming spirit

Whether you’re interested in living, plant-based wellness, or simply looking for meaningful community, you’re welcome to join us.
