One of the easiest ways to overlook progress is to expect healing to make you unaffected.
You did the work.
You understand the pattern.
You've practiced the tools.
So why did that situation still get to you?
Because progress doesn't necessarily mean nothing difficult ever activates you again.
Life still happens.
Relationships still matter.
Old experiences can still carry weight.
Stress, context, capacity, and what's happening in your life can all influence how something lands on a particular day.
Sometimes progress may show up somewhere else.
You notice what's happening.
You recognize what you need.
You have more options for how you respond.
You reach for support.
You repair after a difficult interaction.
You relate to yourself differently afterward.
None of those things require becoming permanently unbothered.
Healing isn't a finish line where nothing affects you anymore.
