Nostalgia. Saturday morning cartoons, leaning over Dad's favorite chair… little things that shaped your world growing up.

Now that your parents are older, you wish you could get some of that back.

You can't turn back time, but you can keep them in the home where all those memories happened, still enjoying the world they built for you.

Does health insurance cover home care? It's one of the most common questions families ask us, but health insurance and long-term care insurance actually cover very different types of support.

Health insurance typically covers medically necessary care (like skilled nursing or physical therapy). But for everyday help—like bathing, dressing, meal prep, transportation, or companionship—that falls under non-medical home care, which traditional health insurance usually doesn't pay for.

Watch the video to learn how families fund non-medical home care, including private pay options, long-term care insurance, and VA benefits!

Have questions about your coverage or options? Call or text us 24/7 at (480) 922-2820. We're always here to help guide you!

Today is World Mental Health Day. 💚

For older adults, emotional wellbeing is closely tied to connection. Loneliness and isolation can affect health just as much as physical challenges. A phone call, a shared meal, or a simple visit can make a real difference. At FirstLight Home Care of FirstLight Home Care of Scottsdale, companionship is at the heart of what we do. If someone you love could use a little more connection, we're here to help.

Are FirstLight caregivers W2 employees?

Yes. Our caregivers are W-2 employees of FirstLight Home Care of Scottsdale—not independent contractors.

We handle their payroll, training, and supervision. Our caregivers are fully vetted, including background checks and drug screening, and our company is insured and bonded.

This gives families a trusted care arrangement without requiring them to privately employ, pay, or manage the caregiver themselves.

This Grandparents Day, let's take a look back at the day's history.

Almost 50 years after President Jimmy Carter issued a proclamation recognizing National Grandparents Day, the spirit behind the holiday remains just as meaningful.

We're thankful for all grandparents do to connect generations and carry traditions forward!
