Heat can sneak up on anyone, even the guy who’s always dialed in.

Troubleman Spencer Rediker shares the moment his crew realized their foreman wasn’t acting like himself and how it changed the way they look out for each other on hot days.

Cab up. Cool down. Grab some water. And pay attention when a buddy just doesn’t seem right.

No better place to see that lineworkers are built different. 💪⚡

Coach Steve spent the weekend helping competitors warm up, recover, and stay ready to perform at the OG&E Lineman's Rodeo this weekend.

Shoutout to everyone who stepped up to compete and to the families who came out to cheer them on. 👏

Does your PPE checklist include UV protection for eyewear?

For workers spending hours outside, constant UV exposure can contribute to eye fatigue, headaches, and reduced focus, especially when looking overhead throughout the day.

That's why UV protection and polarized lenses matter. They help reduce visual strain so crews can stay more comfortable, focused, and ready for the work ahead.

Safety isn't a rule you follow. It's a mindset you carry.

For Felipe Carrillo, co-founder of Wye Delta Safety Glasses, that shows up a warmup before the shift, a PPE check that isn't rushed, FR clothing worn because it matters, not because it's mandated.

Go home the same way you came in. That's the outcome a mindset produces that a rule never will.

It's funny how often we resist the things that help us most.

Troubleman Spencer Rediker admits there was something uncomfortable about stretching with the crew at first. Nobody wanted to look like they needed it.

But every time they did it, they felt better. And they ended the day a little less beat up.

Here's to normalizing letting go of the idea that taking care of yourself isn't part of the job. 🙌

"Just tough it out."

For years, that was the answer.

But if someone isn't acting like themselves because of the heat, pushing through could put them, and the whole crew, at risk.

The best leaders don't just tell people to keep working. They pay attention, ask questions, and know when it's time for a break. 👊

Popular or unpopular opinion? 🤔 The utility trades are full of athletes.

Last Friday we had the chance to support the line and gas workers competing at Xcel Energy's North Star Rodeo in Minnesota - and let's just say the working athlete game was on full display.

Watching these men and women compete was a reminder of how much athleticism, precision, coordination, and problem-solving the trades demand every day. 👏

Today, the team from Vimocity is on-site at the rodeo hosted by Xcel Energy in Minnesota, helping linemen and gas workers prepare to perform at their best before competition begins.

Before the events kick off, we're leading a dynamic warm-up designed to help participants get their muscles and joints ready for the demands ahead.

Best of luck to all the electrical and gas athletes competing today. We're proud to be part of an event that celebrates the skill and dedication it takes to keep our communities powered and running.

What if we redefined what being tough really means?

Sometimes the toughest thing we can do is take care of ourselves.

Reset after the shift.
Get some sleep.
Move your body.
Talk to somebody when things feel heavy.

Taking care of yourself isn’t weakness. It’s part of staying ready for the work ahead 👊
