As summer vacation comes to an end, we want to highlight all the amazing back to school and family health fairs our team joined this summer!

We had a great time helping families prepare for the upcoming school year, answering questions about health insurance, and going over the importance of well-child visits!

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We're looking forward to an amazing autumn. 🍂

For 25 years, International Overdose Awareness Day has brought people together to remember those we’ve lost and to take action to save lives.

Overdose continues to affect every community. Yet it can be prevented. If somebody is experiencing an overdose, call 911 immediately and give a dose of naloxone (find free naloxone near you https://mychpw.info/47OkgOD)

Warnings signs for an overdose include:
-Difficulty walking, talking or staying awake
-Slow, weak or no breathing
-Pale, ashy, cool skin
-Blue or gray lips or fingernails
-Very small pupils
-Unresponsive (unable to wake up, even when shaken or shouted at)

It's Community Health Worker (CHW) Awareness Week! Did you know that many health plans, including CHPW, use Community Health Workers to support their members by phone or in person?

Among the ways CHWs can help:

Visit you in your home to see how you’re doing

Connect you with local resources for groceries, transportation, and assistance with heating bills

Help you fill out medical forms and other important paperwork

Go with you to doctor appointments

And more!

If you're a CHPW member and think a Community Health Worker could help you, give us a call at 866-418-7006
