This past month, I’ve been studying the book of Psalms and learning more about the role music played in ancient worship. I’ve also been listening to professional musicians—some who have traveled to Israel and studied Hebrew—to better understand the music and instruments of biblical times.
It has expanded my understanding of the power of sound, vibration, and frequency.
David was a musician, and music was an important part of worship. One of my favorite examples is when David played his harp for Saul:
“David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well.” — 1 Samuel 16:23
I love those words: refreshed, and was well.
The Psalms are filled with singing, instruments, praise, joy, and expressions of the heart. Music wasn’t simply something they listened to—it was something they experienced.
This has given me an even deeper appreciation for what I do through Sole Vibration. Sound is vibration, and whether through a beautiful piece of music, the resonance of an instrument, or the peaceful tones of a Sound Bath, we can feel its effects throughout us.
Maybe that is part of why music has touched the human soul for thousands of years. ❤️🎶
“Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord.” — Psalm 150:6
