Remember what the temporary pool steps looked like in the video I shared the other day? Well, Kev built the new steps out of wood that was already around the farm. Most left over from the previous owner and some leftover from our renovations.

He started working on them early this morning and finished by 4. Then we tested them out and got in the pool. He will add handrails at some point but this is what we have for now. They are great interim steps until we build a deck. Brilliant!

AND we didn’t spend a dime. Cha-ching!

The deck build will probably be next pool season because we still have to renovate the 2nd half of the house, the garage aka home gym/hang out space AND my office. We hope to have all that completed by the end of this year/beginning of 2027.

I’m SO thankful for these steps because I had a very hard time getting in and out of the steps that the previous owner had. We will keep those as well but these are much safer and easier for us to enter and exit the pool. Thank you Kevin.

Red Sunrise Surprise🎁

This morning was our red sunrise surprise. A Northern Cardinal.🥰

These beautiful cardinals grace us with their presence every single day, numerous times a day. We love it!♥️

Did you know “The cardinal bird is a powerful symbol of vitality, devotion, and messages from the spiritual realm. Across many cultures, particularly in North American folklore, a visiting cardinal is widely seen as a comforting messenger from heaven or a departed loved one”, according to Mirador Living. 🪽

We will get more birds posted as soon as we can. It’s so much fun!😎

It’s open! We hung out in the pool yesterday and it was absolutely amazing. I can’t wait until we build the landing and steps on the outside of the pool 👍 And then down the road the deck addition will be so cool. Kev already said he loves it so much and we’re definitely keeping it.😁

Now to order pool floaties😎 Do you have a pool? Is there anything else you recommend?

Looking forward to a very enjoyable summer. We start renovating the house again after Father’s Day so this will be a beautiful reward.

A quick walk on the farm. Kev has a new fishing magnet he’s using to pick up nails and other odd stuff on the farm. He loves it!😁

Loving all the flowers popping up on the farm (note: I said daffodils, they are daylilies). We have discussed planting flowers out in the field too. Learning about how to check on the grape vines to see if they will produce or if they are no longer alive. I’ll keep you updated.🌹💐

And of course snake holes are fun. NOT!😬

The pool cover and pillow we bought did great through the very cold winter. And we have since opened the pool, filled it with more water, tested the water, added new stairs INSIDE the pool and now need to build a platform/deck.

We look forward to getting our hot tub set up again. But right now we are getting the land ready for family coming in for Father’s Day. We have just under 9 acres to play with.🥰

Kev has been working hard making a camping area out in the field. Mowing walkways, etc. Mom gave us a picnic table so we put that out there. It’s coming along.

The daffodils are blooming. 🌼 Kev transplanted the daffodil plants when we first got the house back in August last year. They were all planted around the propane tank and the guys that came to move the tanks mentioned that there shouldn’t be anything around them. So Kev got to work. 😁

It’s my understanding that they are supposed to bloom in early Spring but they just popped out this week. April was daffodil month but ours didn’t get the memo. 😂

Did you know the daffodil is a symbol of hope for those with cancer? Beautiful. Hopefully they will all pop up this month. We shall see. 😉
