Today the Foundation and Sikeston Public Schools are remembering and mourning one of our own, Avin Sullivan. Although the days to come will be dimmer without his presence, his laughter, his joy and the light he brought to those around him will long echo through the halls of our district and live on in the hearts of his Bulldog family.

Gone far too soon, but forever a Bulldog. 🖤❤🖤

🌶️🍓 What an amazing day at the Kindergarten Farmers Market! 🍎🥒

Our little Bulldogs had such a great time exploring fresh fruits and vegetables, learning about healthy choices, and "shopping" for produce to take home and enjoy!🐾

Students were excited to choose items like apples, bananas, cucumbers, berries, mini peppers, cherry tomatoes, and more while learning the importance of eating colorful, nutritious foods. Seeing their smiles, curiosity, and excitement for trying fresh foods made this event a huge success!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this farmers market possible and to our wonderful students for being so enthusiastic and adventurous with healthy eating. We are proud to continue creating fun opportunities that encourage lifelong healthy habits here at Sikeston Public Schools ❤️🖤

HAPPY NATIONAL SCHOOL LUNCH HERO DAY!!!!!

Every day, our cafeteria staff works hard behind the scenes to serve nutritious meals with kindness, smiles, and care to our students. From early mornings to busy lunch lines, they help fuel learning and make a difference in the lives of our Bulldogs every single day.

Thank you for your dedication, teamwork, and the love you put into feeding our students. We appreciate all you do to keep our schools running strong!

If you have a second grader at Wing Elementary, be sure to ask them what they learned this morning from their time with our district Dietitian! While enjoying fresh strawberries and blueberries, students explored the nutritional benefits of berries and discussed the importance of incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables into their daily diet. Students explored the differences between naturally occurring and added sugars, discussed their effects on the body, and examined visual comparisons highlighting the added sugar content in common foods and beverages such as cereal, soda, Kool-Aid, sweet tea, and candy.
