This morning I participated in the Interfaith Action 7th Annual Walk for Warmth. I participated with a group from Beth Emet my synagogue. It’s raises awareness of the homelessness in Evanston and provides resources for people in need especially during extreme weather like today. It is currently 4 degrees feels like -15! Because of the extreme weather this morning they decided to shorten the normal 2 mile walk that goes by all the houses of worship that are involved to just a 1 block walk.

What I’m grateful for at this moment as I sit in my car warming up and composing this message: (things we take for granted)
Gloves
Hand warmer inserts
Warm clothing I was able to layer
Warm coat with hood
Hat and scarf
Boots and socks with no holes
A car to sit in to warm up in when it warms up
Heated car seats
A roof over my head
Heat in my apartment
Plenty of access to warm meals
