Why is an organization like the Snoqualmie Valley Healing Center so vital to our community?

Because hardship can happen to anyone—and healing rarely comes from meeting just one need.

Sometimes healing begins with a warm meal, a shower after months without one, clean clothing, or a safe place to do laundry. Sometimes it begins with recovery support, mental health counseling, spiritual care, or simply being welcomed without judgment.

The Snoqualmie Valley Healing Center exists to care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—and to create a community where people are treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

At the heart of this vision is our Executive Director, Chaplain Patti Yetneberk, DNP, ARNP. Patti brings decades of experience caring for individuals and families, including more than 20 years serving the Snoqualmie Valley as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Master of Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Washington, completed postgraduate training as both an Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner, and studied complementary and alternative healthcare.

After retiring from clinical practice, Patti followed a calling that had been woven throughout her life: walking beside people as they seek healing, hope, connection, and a sense of belonging.

Her passion for this work is rooted in the understanding that people need more than services—they need to know they matter.

Patti’s vision is a place where everyone is welcome: people of every faith, every background, every circumstance, and even those who claim no faith at all. It is a place where practical care and compassionate connection come together, because no one should have to face life’s hardest seasons alone.

You can support this important work—and enjoy a wonderful evening with your neighbors—at:

The first person who was able to utilize our facility at the Snoqualmie Valley Healing Center hadn’t had a shower in eight months.

Eight months.

They were able to come through our doors, take a warm shower, have a meal, do some laundry and get some clean clothes.

That’s it.

And yet, think for a moment about what those very basic things can mean to someone who has been living without them.

I’ve spent time sitting in our facility and watching people come through the doors. I’ve watched people gather a little glimmer of hope or possibility. I’ve watched connections form. I’ve seen what can happen when someone is offered dignity, compassion, and a place to simply begin.

It can be so easy from the outside to make blanket judgments:

They could do this.
They should do that.
Why don’t they just…?

And let me tell you—from my perspective and from some of the family dynamics I have walked through myself—it is rarely that simple.

There is a place for compassion and gentle motivation. There is a place for support without taking away someone’s responsibility for their own next step.

That is part of what The Community Table means.

First, it is about gathering our community around a table. Creating a place where people can truly connect with one another.

And second, it is about raising the funds necessary to keep this work going.

The Snoqualmie Valley Healing Center rents space from the American Legion Hall. We provide daily lunches, access to showers, a clothing close, laundry facilities, community engagement opportunities, and other practical support. And just as importantly, we collaborate with other organizations throughout our community to help fill the gaps.

It isn’t competition. It’s collaboration.

Because no single organization can meet every need—and we shouldn’t have to.

On Saturday, September 19, from 4–7 PM, we’re inviting our community to gather with us for our Community Table – Gathering & Giving Spaghetti Dinner.

Come have spaghetti with Seth’s homemade sauce, salad, Italian bread and dessert. Visit with your neighbors. Learn a little more about what happens inside these walls. And help us continue creating a place where someone who hasn’t had a shower in eight months can walk through the door and be reminded:

There is still hope. There is still possibility. And you still belong to a community.
