✨ Show your kids the things you love. ✨

The hobbies. The fandoms. The weird, nerdy, wonderfully specific things that bring you joy. 📚🐉💕

Today, while helping me pick out a new book at The Wicked Press , Freya spotted Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros on the shelf and immediately started cheering with excitement. 😂

And there I am, laughing, scooping her up, and telling her, “Mommy already has that one!” 🤣❤️

But here’s the thing…

I want my daughter to grow up seeing me unapologetically loving the things I love. I want her to see me get excited about books, embrace my whimsy, and find joy in things that might seem silly to someone else.

Because someday, she’ll have her own things. Her own weird little interests, obsessions, hobbies, and passions.

And I hope she loves them loudly, freely, and without an ounce of embarrassment. 🥹✨

So here’s to raising a little girl who already knows her mama loves dragons, morally gray fictional men, and a good fantasy book. 🐉📖😂

And here’s to hoping she never feels like she has to make herself smaller or less enthusiastic about the things that make her happy. 💕

Let your kids see your joy. So they know they’re allowed to have theirs, too. ✨

✨ Once Upon a Friday was only the beginning…

This summer, I started hosting book bedazzling mornings because I wanted to create something that felt a little different: a space to gather, make something, talk about books, and spend a couple of hours doing something simply because it was fun.

Turns out… I wasn’t ready for it to end. 💜

So book bedazzling is getting a name of its own at Pursuing Hope.
