Feeling a little under the weather today, so I’m making one of my favorite herbal teas. 🍵🌿
Recipe (32 oz / 4 cups water)
Ingredients
* 1 Tbsp fresh ginger, thinly sliced
* 1 Tbsp dried elderberries
* 1 Tbsp echinacea herb
* 1 tsp cinnamon chips
* 1 Tbsp lemon thyme
* 1–2 Tbsp marshmallow leaf
* 32 oz (4 cups) water
Directions
1. Add the ginger, elderberries, echinacea, and cinnamon chips to a pot with 32 oz water.
2. Bring to a gentle simmer and simmer covered for 20–30 minutes.
3. Remove from heat and add the lemon thyme and marshmallow leaf.
4. Cover and steep for 15–30 minutes.
5. Strain and enjoy. Add honey if desired.
Storage
Store any leftover tea in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days. Reheat only the amount you’d like to drink rather than reheating the entire batch.
How I Use It
When I’m feeling run down or feel a cold coming on, I’ll usually sip on 3–4 cups throughout the day, listening to my body and making sure I’m staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest.
If you’re an elderberry lover like I am, don’t forget to check out our At-Home Elderberry Syrup Kit, available in our Etsy shop. It’s an easy way to keep elderberry syrup on hand whenever you need it. 🍯🌿
