Return doesn’t mean “calm down after.”
It means catching the half-second between the trigger and your response — and choosing differently, right there.
This is the moment Notice taught you to see, and Reset trained your body to find.
Your kid slams a door. Your chest tightens. Normally the next thing is the reaction — already moving before you decided anything.
Return is the pause that opens up before that. Not calm after the fact. The choice, in real time, while you’re still mid-feeling.
It’s small at first. You’ll miss it more than you catch it. But every time you notice it, it gets a little easier to find next time.
That’s the practice. Not eliminating the trigger — widening the gap.
Calm is where connection grows ✨
