🧩 Piece by piece, we’re making a difference! 💜

Today, residents, team members, families, and friends came together for our annual Puzzle Competition Fundraiser benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Teams raced against the clock to complete their puzzles, all while supporting an incredible cause that impacts so many families.

It was a day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, laughter, and purpose. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and helped make this event such a success. Together, we’re helping raise awareness and support the fight against Alzheimer’s—one piece at a time.

Summer support from the boys of the Young Men’s Service League has been such a blessing to our community! 💙

This summer, these young men have been volunteering their time to help our residents with all kinds of everyday needs—from computer and phone assistance to package deliveries and odds and ends around their apartments. Their kindness, patience, and willingness to lend a hand have made a big difference and brought so many smiles to our residents’ faces.

We are so grateful for these young men and the heart they bring to serving others.

Good food, great company, and wonderful memories! ⚜️

Yesterday, a small group of our residents enjoyed a delicious lunch outing to Cajun Street, generously sponsored by Sunset Hospice. We enjoyed some classic New Orleans favorites and plenty of laughter around the table, it was a wonderful afternoon filled with great food and even better fellowship.

Anyone remember shopping at Sakowitz? 🛍️

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming a very special guest, Robert Sakowitz, who shared the fascinating story of his family’s iconic department store that helped shape Houston’s retail history.

Founded in 1902, Sakowitz grew from a small clothing store into one of Houston’s most beloved luxury department stores, known for bringing world-class fashion from designers like André Courrèges , Givenchy, Fendi and Yves St Laurent. Sakowitz was known for its exceptional customer service it provided to the city for generations. It became a true Houston landmark and left a lasting legacy in our community.

Our residents enjoyed hearing Robert’s personal memories, family stories, and the history behind a store that so many remember with great fondness. Thank you, Robert, for taking us on a wonderful journey through Houston’s past and helping preserve these treasured memories.

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙

Today, our residents enjoyed one of our favorite Independence Day traditions as the annual Fourth of July parade passed right by our front doors! From waving flags and cheering on the parade participants to spending time with friends and neighbors, it was a wonderful way to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday.

We’re grateful for moments like these and hope everyone has a safe, happy, and patriotic Fourth of July!
