Planning is part of stewardship.

We make strategies. We build timelines. We evaluate markets. We prepare formulations, research plans, budgets, launches, and next steps.

But Proverbs reminds us that even the most thoughtful plans are not the final authority.

The purpose of the Lord will be established.

That truth does not make planning meaningless. It makes planning more humble.

In agriculture, animal nutrition, and business, we are constantly working with variables we cannot fully control. Markets shift. Weather changes. Animals respond differently. Timelines move. New information emerges.

Faithful leadership means doing the work to prepare while holding the outcome with open hands.

Good intentions matter.

Scripture reminds us that love is meant to grow with knowledge and insight.

In Philippians, Paul prays for love that overflows, not without direction, but with wisdom. Love becomes stronger when it is paired with discernment.

That matters in leadership.

It matters in agriculture.

It matters in animal nutrition.

The best decisions are rarely made by knowledge alone or compassion alone. They require both.

We need science that is careful, not cold. We need service that is heartfelt, not careless. We need leadership that can ask not only, “What can we do?” but “What is best?”

Growth does not happen apart from connection.

In John 15, Jesus reminds us that a branch cannot bear fruit by itself. It must remain connected to the vine.

That image speaks clearly to agriculture, leadership, and life.

Healthy fruit depends on healthy roots. Strong outcomes depend on steady nourishment. Good work depends on more than effort alone.

Whether we are developing nutrition strategies, caring for animals, mentoring a team, building a business, or serving a family, we are not meant to produce fruit in our own strength.

Abiding means staying close to the source.

Meaningful work grows from both discipline and dependence. Science helps us understand the systems around us, but faith reminds us where true fruitfulness begins.

The strongest branches are not the ones striving hardest. They are the ones that remain connected.

The work we are called to do can be meaningful and still be heavy.

Producers know this. Leaders know this. Parents know this. Anyone who carries responsibility for animals, people, research, business, or family understands that good work can still require a great deal of strength.

In Matthew 11, Jesus does not ignore the weary. He invites them.

That invitation reminds us that rest is not weakness. Rest is part of faithful stewardship.

We are not called to serve from emptiness, lead from exhaustion, or carry every burden as if everything depends on us alone.

May we remember that God does not only meet us in productivity. He also meets us in surrender, renewal, and rest.

Faithful service begins by bringing our burdens to the One who can carry what we cannot.

That distinction matters for product teams.

Good science rarely comes from a single study, or even a single species.

When we evaluate ingredients for canine digestive health, dog-specific research matters. But it isn’t always the only evidence that can help us understand how an ingredient works.

Research in other monogastric species, including pigs and poultry, can add valuable insight into digestive mechanisms, consistency of response, and biological plausibility. When those findings align with canine research, they can help build a stronger overall evidence picture, and I have more confidence that we’re looking at a real biological effect, not just an isolated result.

Good stewardship requires preparation, strategy, discipline, and thoughtful decision-making.

But Proverbs reminds us of something every producer, parent, leader, and business owner eventually learns: we can plan the way, but the Lord directs the steps.

That truth does not make planning less important. It makes humility more important.

In agriculture and animal nutrition, we build plans around research, data, formulation, production, timelines, markets, and customer needs. We do our best to prepare wisely and serve responsibly.

But even the best plans require flexibility, patience, and trust.

Sometimes the next right step looks different than we expected. Sometimes the path changes. Sometimes a closed door becomes protection, and a delay becomes preparation.

Plan with wisdom. Move with humility. Trust God with the path.

A species name is not a strain identity. Probiotic function depends on the exact organism, commercial preparation, viable dose, processing tolerance, storage conditions, and evidence behind it.
