If you’re on a weight loss journey and you’re not losing weight like “everyone else,” you’re not broken. I see this all the time in clinic.
A lot of the time, the medication isn’t the problem, the foundation is.
Here are the big reasons progress can feel slow:
✨ 1) You’re not absorbing what you eat
Even if you’re eating less, your body still has to break food down well to use nutrients.
I often recommend a digestive enzyme, especially if you feel bloated, heavy after meals, or you’ve had your gallbladder removed.
✨ 2) You’re under-eating and under-nourished
GLP-1s can drop appetite so much that people end up with low protein and low nutrients.
A solid foundational multivitamin can help fill gaps while you’re eating less.
✨ 3) Hormones can stall weight loss
Things like high estrogen, stress-driven low progesterone, and “estrogen dominance” patterns can push your body toward water retention, cravings, and stubborn weight.
✨ 4) Gut inflammation or hidden food reactions
If your gut is inflamed, you can feel stuck even on the right medication.
Sometimes food reactions and inflammation can blunt how well your body responds.
The goal is to optimize the gut, nutrients, and hormones so the GLP-1 can do what it’s supposed to do. ✅
