Wednesday Wellness Word
The word of the day is FLEXIBILITY. This is an important concept in our lives for our mindsets but also for our bodies! When we get tightness for whatever reason, we usually alter our normal movement patterns and that can cause a whole host of secondary issues.

We would love to help you learn how to stretch safely and keep your body moving! You might even find taking time to move helps keep not only your body, but your mind FLEXIBLE!

⚡ Employee Spotlight: Andy ⚡

Every company has that one employee who keeps the lights on… literally. 💡

Meet Andy! He’s the guy who shows up ready to work, solves problems before they become headaches, and somehow manages to find the breaker that everyone else swore didn’t exist.

We’re pretty sure Andy runs on coffee, electrical tape, and pure determination. Whether he’s pulling wire, troubleshooting issues, or explaining electrical problems in a way that actually makes sense, he always gets the job done.

If you’ve had the pleasure of working with Andy, you know he’s not just a great electrician—he’s also a great guy to have on the job site.

Thanks for all your hard work, Andy we’re pretty sure they quit making them like you. ⚡

Wednesday Wellness Word : Today’s word is STRENGTH.

A natural process of aging is the loss of skeletal muscle mass, a process called sarcopenia. It typically begins more slowly around age 30, but often accelerates after age 60. Unchecked, this process can slowly reduce our overall strength which then can show up in things like having more difficulty rising from a chair, climbing stairs, carrying groceries and opening containers or decreased walking speed, loss of stamina and feeling unsteady on our feet.

Strength training just 2-3 times a week is shown to build muscle and improve movement issues caused by weakness. Good nutrition is also important for providing the building blocks our muscles need for optimum wellness.

At Ally, we offer strength training along with other pillars of wellness as part of all of our weekly classes. We also offer individualized assessments to identify problem areas that may be small now, but if left unchecked can make a big difference in our overall fitness and independence in the long run. Reach out if you want to know more about these things, but no matter what, keep your STRENGTH!

Introducing “Wednesday Wellness Word” where we will share a word to motivate or educate on wellness issues for aging adults.

Today’s word is BALANCE. For us this not only means balancing the demands of life, but literally keeping ourselves steady on our feet. Both are important to physical and mental wellbeing and important to address proactively instead of waiting until something goes wrong. Regular exercise can boost our moods and our ease of movement, and at Ally Wellness,we want to make moving a positive and fun part of your daily routine. We have classes Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:00 AM with different focuses or we can schedule one on one or small group activities to suit your needs. Take time to find a little better BALANCE in your life today!
