We’re growing again. ❤️

As The Living Room continues to grow, we’re looking for a few incredible clinicians to join our team.

We currently have:

1) Two full-time therapist openings
• Springfield, MO
• Ozark, MO

2) One office-sharing opportunity (M, T, Th, and F) in Springfield. Perfect for a therapist looking to work part-time or pick up a few appointments during the week while keeping another position.

At The Living Room, we’ve intentionally built the kind of practice we would want to work in ourselves.

Our mission is simple: Healing begins with safety.

That doesn’t just apply to our clients—it applies to our clinicians, too.

When you join our team, you’ll find:
✨ A steady stream of referrals
✨ Administrative and billing support
✨ Beautiful, fully furnished office space
✨ Flexible scheduling with telehealth options
✨ A collaborative, supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together
✨ An affirming, inclusive environment where both clients and clinicians are respected, valued, and encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work

We believe that excellent mental healthcare starts with taking care of the people providing it. We value curiosity over ego, collaboration over competition, and clinicians who are committed to learning, growing, and providing exceptional care.

If you’re looking for more than just another job—if you’re looking for a place to build a meaningful career—we’d love to meet you.

Know someone who would be a great fit? Please tag them or share this post!

Sometimes the local news reminds us that we rarely know the full weight another person is carrying. Pain isn’t always visible, and people who appear to be “doing okay” may be fighting battles no one else can see.

If you’re struggling, please don’t carry it alone. There is no shame in asking for help. Reach out to a friend, a family member, your therapist, your doctor, or someone you trust. If you don’t know where to start, call or text 988 to connect with the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline. Caring people are available 24 hours a day.

If you’re worried about someone else, don’t assume someone else will check on them. Send the text. Make the call. Ask the hard question: “Are you thinking about hurting yourself?” Listening without judgment and helping them connect to support can make a profound difference.

At The Living Room, we believe healing begins with safety. If you or someone you love is struggling with depression, hopelessness, overwhelming stress, or thoughts of su***de, please know that you don’t have to face it alone. Help is available, and recovery is possible.

If someone is in immediate danger or unable to stay safe, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.

Please take care of yourselves…and each other. ❤️

We've heard the stories.

The blank stare.

The "and how does that make you feel?" on repeat.

The feeling that your therapist is taking notes faster than they're getting to know you.

And sometimes... you leave wondering if they actually *heard* you.

The truth is, not every therapist is the right fit for every person. And that's okay.

Therapy isn't supposed to feel like you're checking a box or reading from a script. It should feel like a real conversation with someone who's genuinely curious about your world and invested in helping you navigate it.

At The Living Room Wellness, we believe healing happens through connection.

We laugh.

We celebrate wins.

Sometimes we sit in silence.

Sometimes we ask hard questions.

Sometimes we say, "Hold on... tell me more about that."

Because therapy isn't about pretending to have all the answers. It's about showing up as humans, together.

If you've walked away from therapy before thinking, "Maybe it just wasn't for me," we'd gently offer another possibility.

Maybe... it just wasn't the right fit.

And finding the right fit can change everything.

We don't believe healing happens through awkward silence alone.

It doesn't happen by pretending you're "totally over it" while your body clearly disagrees.

It doesn't happen from another self-help book collecting dust on the nightstand, or a green juice, or one more deep breath in through the nose.

Real healing is uncomfortable.

It's saying the thing you've rehearsed a hundred times in the shower and never actually said out loud.

It's crying in a room that isn't your car.

It's someone asking "how are you, really" and actually waiting for the answer.

That's the work.
That's what we do here.
Bring the mess, the weight you're tired of carrying, the thing(s) you keep almost-texting someone about at 2am.

We'll sit with you in it, no judgment, until it starts to make sense.

Meet Tara Garrity, LCSW

At The Living Room, we believe therapy should feel like a place where you can finally exhale, and that's exactly the space Tara creates for her clients.

Tara is a licensed clinical social worker who works with adults navigating identity, emotional well-being, and life's big transitions. She has a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQ+ community, especially transgender and gender-expansive individuals, as well as anyone working through anxiety, depression, trauma, or a season of change.

Her approach is collaborative and strengths-based, meeting you exactly where you are. Drawing on CBT, EMDR, and Brainspotting, Tara tailors each session to your goals and your story.

Judgment never enters the room; partnership does.

With over a decade of clinical experience and a career built around advocating for marginalized communities, Tara brings both deep expertise and genuine care to the room.

And yes, there's usually some humor along the way too.

If you're ready for a therapist who sees you fully and walks alongside you, Tara is now accepting new clients.
