Herbalist Keya’s Corner on Spiritual reflections: Consistency Over Perfection
When people see spiritual practices online, they often see beautiful alters, elaborate setups, and perfectly arranged offerings.
While no judgement or nothing wrong with it, creating a sacred space, your time to pray or practice doesn’t have to look glamorous to be meaningful.
Consistency isn’t always about doing something big every day. Sometimes lighting a candle 🕯️, saying a short prayer 🙏🏽, refreshing a glass of water, or simply taking a moment to acknowledge GOD, Blessings, your ancestors. Small acts still carry intention, and intention matters.
There will also be days that you do not pray, tend to your alter how you planned. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed or that your spiritual connection to GOD has disappeared. Life gets busy. We become tired, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained. Guilt doesn’t strengthen your practice, it only makes returning harder.
My own spiritual practice changes depending on my energy and schedule. Some days I have the time and focus to do more, while other days my practice may only consist of a short prayer before leaving the house. I’ve learned that both are valuable.
When you miss a day or several simply return. You don’t need to punish yourself, over explain, or wait until you can do everything perfectly. Begin again with whatever energy you have available.
Your Spiritual Practice is a relationship, not a performance. Let it meet you where you are💚🌻🍃🌿🌿🌿🙏🏽🙏🏽
