This Doula Circle is a sacred space for reconnecting with your soul voice.

Together we will explore what it means to feel confident in your voice and helping your clients expressing themselves— whether that’s advocating for their body, their birth choices, their boundaries, or simply being heard without shrinking.

We will close with a restorative sound bath by , designed to integrate the experience, calm the nervous system, and help you fully embody the voice you’ve reclaimed.

This is not about performing, “getting it right”, or sounding good; it’s about remembering that your voice and that no one has a voice like your’s!

Transition can feel like you’re floating in the abyss.
Waves build and crash, sometimes one on top of the other. Things feel so intense and out of control.

But through the intensity, you find what still tethers you as you are in between realms.
Using your voice.
Eye contact with your partner.
Your breath.
Feeling held.
A voice reminding you that you are safe.

This is the surrendering, the sacred rite of passage. 🥹
The place where you let go and open.

And on the other side of it, you meet this version of yourself that has been rebirthed, never to be the same. 💫

What happens when birth moves from the hands of women… into the hands of institutions?

For generations, birth was a sacred, woman-led rite of passage held by midwives, wise women, and the quiet wisdom of the body. Over time, it shifted into hospitals, becoming something managed, monitored, and controlled.

In this Wise Women Doula Collective circle, birth worker Cherish DeGraaf shares insights from her research, The Golden Hour: Birth Work as Devotion to Life and Liberation.

Together, we’ll explore:
• The roots of midwifery and wise women
• The rise of modern obstetrics
• How systems shape birth experiences
• The role of doulas in restoring autonomy and dignity

In the second half, we’ll gather in reflection and create Golden Hour Protection Tokens—small, meaningful keepsakes honoring our commitment to protect the sacred first moments between mother and baby.

Each token becomes a reminder: of presence, of protection, of the tender threshold where a mother is born alongside her child.

The shock and joy! 😍😍

Birth is so incredible. It is a journey and a rite of passage. And although it happens every day, it is such a miracle and the biggest event in a mother’s life. 💫

This first-time-mom labored throughout the night. We got to the hospital at 5am and then an hour later baby was born! I prepare my mothers/clients for the length and intensity that comes with a first birth, but I am always surprised and awe-struck by birth in all the ways! 😍 What an honor it is to just be with women through the long hours, the short hours, the late nights, the intensity, the beauty, the pain, and the whole journey. 🥹

Fear is information.
Fear is your body asking to be seen, heard, and held.

When we give fear a place to exist, instead of pushing it away, something powerful happens. We can move ✨through✨ it.

And on the other side of fear is often clarity, strength, and the deep realization that you survived the thing you were afraid of.

Instead of stopping at the fear, try walking with it for a moment:

✨Name it. Say the fear out loud. When we give it words, it loses some of its power.
✨Write it out. Do a brain dump and write everything that comes to your mind when you think of this fear. You can rip up or burn the paper after.
✨Let your body process it. Move, breathe, cry, shake, hum, stretch, scream…emotions need somewhere to go.
✨Visualize the other side. Picture yourself after the moment you’re afraid of. See yourself holding your baby, breathing, resting, recovering.
✨Process with a therapist. Talk with a professional that can hold space with you and give great tools to use and habits to build.

Birth, like so many things in life, asks us to walk through moments of uncertainty, pain, and fear.

But you are not powerless in those moments.
You are capable of moving through them.

And on the other side, you’ll often find a version of yourself that is stronger than you imagined. 💫

I will always and forever be in humble awe of the power of women. To be with them in the most transformative moments in their lives changes them and it changes me, every time.

Sacred. Beautiful. Goddess women.

It was also so sweet to see the husband right there with her in every moment, through every contraction. And I loved that he wore the rebozo around his neck through most of the birth, even though it was a quick one!

This month, we are honored to learn from Lesha Nelson—somatic practitioner, doula, and craniosacral therapist. Lesha will guide us through birth imprints and how our own birth experiences can influence our work as doulas, weaving this insight into the lens of perinatal somatics.

Her passion lives in supporting birth, trauma resolution, and helping families integrate, land, and attach here on earth with greater gentleness, love, and connection.
