When life feels busy and full, the heart-mind does its best to keep up—
✌️ Tracking the endless to-do list
✌️ Making decisions
✌️ And holding onto experiences.

In yoga, we call these movements vritti-s—the constant turnings and cyclings of thoughts and emotions that keep us preoccupied.
And over time, it can feel like we’re being pulled in a hundred directions at once…
reacting, thinking, holding, carrying.

This kind of mental busyness doesn’t just stay in the mind—
it moves through the whole body. The nervous system stays on high alert, and we can start to feel scattered, tense, and / or overwhelmed.

One of the intentions of yoga is to gently quiet these fluctuations— to create space, steadiness, and clarity.

The practice below begins with simple, dynamic movements to meet the dynamic energy of the mind where it is.

From there, we move into a series of balance postures—inviting focus, presence, and a steady point of attention.

We close with a child's pose and a side bend, shapes that naturally draws us inward and softens some of the noise of daily life.

If your mind has been feeling busy lately…this practice is for you ❤️

The temperatures have been fluctuating quite a bit lately, with cooler nights and mornings and warmer afternoons.

This soup is perfect for this type of weather—especially in the spring when you’re wanting something a little lighter, but still warm and grounding.

It’s made with simple ingredients you likely already have on hand, and it comes together quickly.

Check out the Substack post for the full recipe 🤍

The idea of doing a “cleanse” can often feel overwhelming.

But in Ayurveda, cleansing isn’t about extremes or not eating—it’s about simplifying.

Warm meals.
Fewer ingredients.
Less stimulation.
A little more space for the body to reset.

I shared a gentle, realistic way to approach a spring cleanse in my latest Substack.

Obsessed with the playlist I put together for tomorrow’s Kapha Pacifying Flow at Detox Yoga 🎶

In Ayurveda, Kapha is the metabolic type most prone to heaviness and slowness—think slow digestion, water retention, and congestion. But Kapha is also steady, strong, compassionate, and deeply grounded.

Tomorrow’s practice is designed to bring balance—awakening energy and circulation through warming postures, invigorating movement, and a slightly quicker pace to help lift that heaviness.

We’ll close with a special Ayurvedic tea to support digestion and lightness 🌿

New Practice This Week — Lighten & Clear

As we move closer to the spring equinox, Ayurveda encourages us to begin gently lightening after the heaviness of winter.

This week’s 20-minute practice focuses on mindful twists and gentle backbends to create space through the spine, chest, and breath — a short practice to support the natural shift happening this time of year.

I also wrote a short article this week about small seasonal shifts that can help reduce winter stagnation and invite more lightness and clarity into the body.

One of the things I love about early spring is the return of warmth ☀️

After months of winter, the warmth can feel energizing. It helps break up some of the stagnation that naturally builds during the colder months.

With the spring equinox just around the corner, it feels like a natural moment to begin making a few gentle shifts.

In Ayurveda, we increase warmth and movement this time of year to help the body transition into spring and release some of the heaviness of winter.

In my new Substack article, I’m sharing a few simple shifts in rhythm, food, and movement to support this seasonal transition.

Read it here:

Simple shifts in rhythm, movement, and food to lighten the body for spring.
