It would be more beneficial to Implement actions to encourage staff to DESIRE entering the nursing home industry rather than discouraging individuals from staying in it.

The more regulations and enforcement based on penalizing the system are further progressing the shortages!!

This is ridiculous! Instead of hiring for more surveyors, how about more funding for the WORKERS!!

Lots of questions about deer hunting at the nursing home so here's the story....
Wikwemikong Nursing Home is a long-term care facility in Canada that serves adults whose needs can no longer be met within the community.

Each week, Emily Barnes and her team strives to have a full calendar of activities for residents, who are primarily First Nations from Manitoulin Island. This past week included a deer hunting activity after one of the residents said he was experiencing hunting fever. That meant setting up a mini-forest of Christmas trees, staff dressing up in deer costumes, and residents wielding nerf guns.

"He was saying how much he missed being an avid hunter every year, and this year was kind of hard because he felt like he was truly missing out on something important," said Barnes.
