✨️Title: A Court of Silver flames by Sarah J Maas
✨️Method: Physical Copy
✨️My rating: 4.75/5⭐️

Of all books in the series, this was quite possibly my favorite. Nesta started out as my least favorite character in the first books. She was easy to hate because of her cold and absolutely callous demeanor towards anyone and everyone who showed her love and kindness. This book shows the pain and self hate that she hides behind her mask and lets no one else see or know. It shows the reader how hurt people will absolutely hurt people because misery loves company.
What I loved about this specific story was how we were given the opportunity to experience a person who is hurting and lashing out finally start to wake up and work on healing herself. It reminds the reader that you can not heal someone, you can not change someone, no matter how much you love them and you show them kindness, a person can not and will not heal or change unless THEY want it. I connected personally with this book the most of them all because of my own personal struggles with mental health and my constant battle to not let the darkness take over and consume me. This book was an incredible representation of mental health and how anyone, no matter how far gone you are, can heal from what has broken them. And in that healing you can slowly and on your own time allow others in to love you, because you are truly deserving of love. This book was done beautifully and with all of that it still was able to tie in the continuous flow of our main plot line from the other books as well. It didn't feel forced or disjointed from Nesta's journey, instead it flowed and worked very well. Such a beautiful book.

✨️Title: Dark Age by Pierce Brown
✨️Method: part audio/ part physical copy
✨️My Rating: 4.5/5⭐️

Wheew....the emotional toll this book delivered...I am left broken, tattered and rocked. Dark Age was in fact....dark. It is difficult to even articulate my emotions without giving too much away. I felt every single emotion you can imagine while reading this book. There were lighter and happy moments but they were only ventured briefly and I was very quickly reminded that this book is called Dark Age for a reason. There was still an incredible amount of character development and relationships were stripped and built and stripped again. There were some incredibly unlikely partnerships as well. This book alone will have you reading quickly simply to determine what the hell is going to happen next because you can even begin to guess. I'm scared and have no clue what to expect in the next book because anything that could have happened ended up happening here and I have absolutely no clue what to expect. Pierce Brown you have done me in and I am not sure that I will emotionally recover from this.

✨️Title: Impact Winter by Travis Beacham
✨️Method: Audio
✨️My rating: 3/5⭐️

I listened to the 3D audio of this on audible and it was quite enjoyable. The voice actors brought the characters to life and the production was very well done. The story itself was a bit clichéd in the stories of vampires and vampire hunters. Despite that, the story was still entertaining and well done. It was heavy on character work which I appreciate in any fantasy book, but the concept of vampires and the different tiered type of vampires wasnt original. I still very much enjoyed listening to this audio book and would recommend it if you are looking for an entertaining vampire story with strong character work and good dialogue. There was action, love, pain and character development. The ending was not very satisfying and I feel like this could have gone on longer but maybe there is a book 2 that I do not know about that would continue the story. Overall, entertaining and worth the read if its what youre looking for.

✨️Title: Dreadful by Caitlin Rozakis
✨️Method: Audiobook
✨️My rating: 3/5

I had originally DNFd this book last year. I chalked it up to me simply not being in the mood. I had been told that the audio book was great so I decided to give it a try. The audio book did more for me than the physically reading it did. I enjoyed this story and I found it imaginative. It was a classic fantasy of good v. Evil. I loved that it brought morality into question and what one would do if they woke up one day with their memories erased. Would you push forward to become who you are told you were? Or would you forget your own path, and be someone you truly want to be?
I feel like this book could have been expanded on and the author could have stretched it out to be more than it was. That being said, it was entertaining and good for what it was. The author added a touch of silliness and whimsy atop the serious undertones to make the book not quite so heavy and serious. I appreciated that, but also felt it would have been fine to dip into the more serious undertones. Overall, this was a good story and I am glad that I went back to it and gave it a chance.
