🎉 National Nursing Assistant Week, or CNA Week, wrapped up yesterday, and we were delighted to share our heartfelt appreciation with our staff throughout our EveryAge locations!

🩺 Our CNAs work tirelessly every day, providing compassionate care, support, and comfort to residents and participants. We're grateful for all they do, whether it's helping with personal hygiene, monitoring vital signs, serving meals, or helping residents and participants with mobility.

We appreciate their dedication and hard work year-round. They truly are unbelievable! 💙

🫶 Our participants love being together at the day center, but sometimes, everybody just wants a change of pace. So, last Friday, we decided that we needed a treat, and we made an impromptu trip to Wendy's! Everyone cooled off with a Frosty, and we had a great time with lots of camaraderie and plenty of laughs! 🧋

🩷 The details are in! Our Father-and-Daughter fundraiser dance, hosted in conjunction with the Iredell Council on Aging, will take place Saturday, June 27, from 6-8pm. It will be held at the Iredell Senior Center and is open to father figures of all kinds and to daughters of all ages.

🎟 Tickets are $20 per couple and can be purchased at www.iredellcoa.org. For additional information, reach out to Jennifer at 704-873-5171, x100. We'll see you there!

👋 There's something so gratifying about intergenerational connections, and our participants are always excited to have young people come to our day center.

Last month, we welcomed a group of International Baccalaureate students from Oakwood Middle School, an IB World School. Their curriculum is designed to help them become internationally-minded, lifelong learners who will make the world a better place. They accomplish this by building on their thinking skills, social skills, communication skills, self-management skills, and research skills. 🌎 📚

Our participants were delighted to meet them and talk with them about their interests and ambitions, and the students graciously helped us with painting projects, educational worksheets, and story-sharing! 🎨

🕑 Days are always busy at IADS, whether it's with group activities, meals and snacks, exercise, or individual time. We believe it's important to keep participants engaged and to encourage them to learn and connect with others.

During one recent craft session, we pulled out paints and canvases and gave everyone the chance to personalize their artwork with color and pattern according to their own tastes. 🎨

Bingo is also perennially popular, and participants love it when guests come to call the letters and numbers and spend time with them. Here, we were fortunate to have students from Crossroads Arts & Science Early College join in on the fun! 🎉

🪣 Last week we received a long hoped-for makeover! Our interior walls were a dated chalkboard-green color, and we envisioned something more muted and soothing for clients.

So, in stepped the Leadersville Statesville cohort from the Greater Statesville Chamber of Commerce! Their participants take on community projects for nonprofit organizations, and they generously supported Iredell Adult Day Services! 🎉

Not only did they provide the labor and the heart, but they also raised money to purchase paint and supplies for the project. Thanks to Debbie Howell, our program director, for submitting the proposal and to everyone who came out to facilitate such amazing results. It's incredible to see how a beautiful physical environment can uplift spirits all around! 💫🌈
